Tannehill vs Luck Updated

Obviously Ryan would have been starting before too long but he wasn't going to start the year. he wasn't ready much like Geno this year wasn't ready.

you don't know that...dont feed me it...we are not gonna live in maybes...we live in absolutes...and geno smith is absolutely awful...you guys dont have a qb...

It's funny how you don't realize what that # of no thanks actually means

It means you're a ****ing terrible poster that most of the board wishes would go back to trolling Buffalo Range and Gang Green?

I think the bigger point of the OP was to show that Ryan Tannehill isn't doing as bad as the nega.... realists have been saying he has.

Luck is basically on pace to have a similar TD year to what he had as a rookie (provided he averages 2 TDs a game) While Ryan has already passed his total and is on pace to have a similar TD total. Unless Luck ****s the bed a few games he's pretty much going to cut his INT total at least in half (currently hsa 1/3 of the INTs he had as a rookie). That's the next step in Tanny's development as he has only 2 less INTs than he did last year.

As I said in another thread, my prediction in the preseason (before Keller got hurt) was 22 TDs and 15 INTs, with an outside shot at 25 TDs. If he gets 1 a game it's 20 (first time a Fins QB has done that since 2001), if he averages 2 TDs He gets 26 TDs (most in nearly 2 decades by a Fins QB)

Based on how's he's played this year? I'd say he's gonna finish with 24 and 18

Geno has been awful at times, long way to go. they invested hundreds of millions of dollars for Ryan this offseason w/ minimal improvement. Geno hasn't had much help, you have to be fair. Ryan is better but Geno has his team in playoff position w/ less talent as of today.

We're talking just raw potential and ability? Cam Newton or Griffin. The question is how likely they are to reach that ceiling.

there's more to playing qb than athletic ability...ceiling involves a lot of other things...he does some things already at the very high end...and he's not close to a finished product

but i will just wait for it to happen...the natural progression of what that qb is going to be

mark is damaged goods right now but he's been better than Ryan and let's see Ryan w/ similar talent(w/ a weaker Pats team to deal with) get his tam to a title game- let's just see him get his team in a legit playoff race.

So he WAS better than Ryan but now he's regressed....got it.

how has he proven to be more accurate?

By looking at the only thing we have at our disposal to tell us, Comp%...unless you have watched every Colt and Dolphins games.

And before you start the Comp % does not show how accurate a QB is, I agree, but what it does tell us is that Ryan was able to complete a higher amount of passes then Luck.

You can say (actually will say) that how do we know where the location of each of those passes were, but the thing is, Ryan did complete a higher percentage, so either his receiver are better then the Luck's helping him with the bad placing of the passes (Even you have admit that's not true), or Ryan actually has been more accurate.

he has also had the HUGE benefit of having his college coach as his OC, not needing to learn a new system like all other young QBs and Miami went out and spent a hundred mil to get him more weapons.

don't confuse comp % w/ accuracy.

please stop looking at blind stats, there is absolutely no comparison btw the 2. That doesn't mean Ryan is bad but he's nowhere near Luck no matter what the #s say. It's not about the overall #s, it's about how you got there that matters.

Hate, hate, hate!

Edit: He's mad because his newly signed QB is hot garbage.

i guess you think the colts made andrew luck run something he was unfamiliar with...ummm no...hell he's got a stanford oc or qb coach if i recall correctly...

Nah Chambers, you only get two options on the QB:

1. HE'S TERRIBLE
2. DELUSIONAL HOMER

the only thing that can hold tannehill from achieving elite qb status is pocket presence...if he develops it and learns how to wiggle out of things and move laterally in the pocket like a tom brady learned thru reps to do and drew brees as well the sky is the limit...

there's nothing he's showing to say it won't develop either...that's the only thing...all this not an accurate qb stuff is mularkey...all this doesn't come off his first read stuff more bs...he's learning to manipulate defenders now progressing nicely...got a ways to go but if the pocket work develops

GAME OVER
