I can't even believe I'm going to get drawn into this.
OK, let's talk about the Texas pass defense. Since, you know, that's what we're talking about, Ryan Tannehill the quarterback and his performance against the Texas pass defense.
You say Oklahoma put up 55 against the defense. The only problem with that is it isn't true. The Oklahoma defense scored not one, not two, but THREE touchdowns off Texas turnovers. You accuse ME of never having watched the games. Well hey, you're the one saying Oklahoma's offense scored 55 against the Texas defense when they actually scored 34 points. Why let facts get in the way of a good argument?
Now, it is a matter of fact that Texas allowed 48 points to Baylor. I'm sure Baylor's 200 yards rushing and 4 rushing touchdowns had something to do with that, but Griffin was still pretty efficient in the game only throwing one interception.
I didn't see many quarterbacks having very efficient passing days against Texas this year, but Landry Jones and Robert Griffin were two of them. Brandon Weeden was not. If you actually WATCHED Weeden play against Texas, which I did, you know he actually struggled in that game probably more than he did the entire year.
Against the QBs other than Landry Jones and Robert Griffin, the Texas pass defense allowed a 54.2 NFL passer rating. Even including those two performances, they allowed a 72.4 passer rating which is pretty good in its own right.
You labeled their defense "dog ****". That's just not accurate.
I'm not a fan of Big 12 defense. But I'm not about to blanket every defense in the conference as you seem to want to do. Nebraska was a Big 12 defense just one year ago, yet that was one of the best pass defenses I saw in all of college football. Exceptions happen.
Oh and by the way you have no ****ing clue what I think of Weeden and Tannehill because you don't read and you make assumptions with an emphasis on the first three letters. I liked Weeden better than Tannehill before the Draft, and I like him better than Tannehill after the Draft.
