i am not saying fasano is good i am saying heap isnt what he used to be.

rather see what clay has to offer and make a run at bedwards...

Its not all about the stars though.. Pats drafted their QB.. Sanchez cost a trade up and still needs to prove. The one area where im concerned, if the Jets did sign Heap, would be TE. Pats have hernandez and gronkowski, both young studs... Jets having Keller and Heap would be a lethal duo. We have Fasano, thats all, and its not like hes Antonio Gates out there.

I think Jerry should get a pass on last year since he was out with that "illness" which he never really got over during the season.....Did we ever find out exactly what it was???

He lost a lot of weight and was never at 100%. He has supposedly gotten back into fighting shape. IMO we should wait until we see him in action this season before pronouncing him a bust.
 
and that was his best season in 3yrs. so reax let them overpay for heap and plax...they lost out on edwards and troy smith their offense got worse. and hell they might lose cromartie.
 
The Jets have and ageing roster.....which is only likely to go one way.....down. We have a young roster which is going in the opposite direction.

I think next year the Pats will win the division but I think we will be 2nd.

I don't think the Dolphins are remotely close to as good as the Jets/Patriots. Just saying I don't really like any of their off-season moves. They haven't really widened the gap. And the Jets-Dolphins at points in recent years have been relatively even (not now though), so they're catchable.

We have a better receiving corps than either team, we have a better defense than the pats, our young defense will probably be better than the Jets this year, our running game is young and unproven but could also pan out to be better than both

JUST SHOWS US that rex can get his players to restructure so he can make there team better and no it want hurt the team on there cap it will help there cap by takeing cuts thats what we are lacking the ability to help each other out hell if the jest can do it we can do it to . when we started FAs we had about 10-12 mil more than the jest did and there making a hell of alot more noise then we are 3 mil for plax was a deal. we wil do like we did with the qb we will wait till all the players are off the board then go try to signed somebody .this is plum crazy

if henne dosent pan out we will be the cellar dweller imo anytime you can make your team better you need to try and get it done .they are players each year that there going out and getting thats helping there team. imo you gotta be agressive each year and try to make your team better not wait till all the players you need is off the board then try and be agressive .

That's what I'm talking about. For 3 Mil we couldn't grab Plax? Is Braylon not worth a shot? How about Cromartie added to our young stud corner crop? Wouldn't that help us become better while sticking it to our bitter rival? That's what improving is all about.....are we going to watch while the Jests wre-sign Cromartie who has been dangling for all of this time and is ripe for the picking?????? Move boys move!!!!!!!!!

Did you not read my post? ANY PLAYER WILL RESTRUCTURE - they get more of their money up front. Rex isn't pulling a rabbit out of a hat by doing so...he wants to win now, future be damned. If you don't think it effects their future cap, I don't know what to tell you. Do you really think you can reduce the cap this year and not have it effect future years? If that was the case, there wouldn't be a need for the cap.
