TE off the Market

Did you not read my post? ANY PLAYER WILL RESTRUCTURE - they get more of their money up front. Rex isn't pulling a rabbit out of a hat by doing so...he wants to win now, future be damned. If you don't think it effects their future cap, I don't know what to tell you. Do you really think you can reduce the cap this year and not have it effect future years? If that was the case, there wouldn't be a need for the cap.

you know what restructure means >/?? it means take there cap and say they had a 5mil over 3 years. they give them 5 mil over 4 years and more garnteed money up front. but anyways there taking lesser money so they can sign bigger names and better players

So you don't know what restructuring a contract means. Got it.

lol, done deal he is going to Jets. An hour later be signs with the Cardinals. Stop worrying about what the Jets are doing.

yeah when you restructure you dont get that back you dont restructure and still get the same amout of money .

Alright, since you don't understand, let me lay it out for you. Player "X" is set to make a base salary of $15 Million this season, and is currently on a 5 year contract. He agrees to restructure to lower his base salary to $5 Million and a $10 Million roster bonus. He still gets $15 Million this season, but gets the $10 Million in one lump sum. Instead of the team receiving a $15 Million cap hit this year, they only receive a $7 million cap hit. For cap purposes, the $10 million roster bonus is divided equally amongst the remaining years of the contract, or $2 million a year for the 5 years. $5 million base + $2 million prorated bonus = $7 million cap hit. The problem are those $2 million cap hits for the remaining 4 years. Those raise your cap for services already rendered, and that's why front offices aren't usually too excited to do a restructure. The player is happy, because most of his base salary is given to him in one lump sum.

Surely you didn't think player "X" was giving money back to the club, did you?

There is alot to worry about the jets...The jets are always improving and the fins are always down grading..

As of right now, the Jets are the ones who have down graded this off season.

heap goes to arizona.....thats so funny. jets are killing us.

We need guards, john jerry sucks very much. Incognito is garbage as well. Please ireland sign waters and whoever else you want.

Last year they could leave the line alone...this year, except for Pouncey, they aren't doing squat. Our OL will absolutely suck if it continues "as is."
