Team Needs (Miami Dolphins from Bleacher Report)

So use a top 10 pick on a tackle to move to guard? Might as well move back in the 18-22 range pick up a second and take the best guard to play guard.
Maybe, unless that player is an amazing talent.

Agree. Unless it's a tackle who can also excel at guard. I'd be fine with that.

So much in the air right now for Miami, starting with Tua.

Also, I like concepts of McDaniel's run game but it's time to take it to another level where the Dolphins can have success in the run game against the more physical teams in the NFL. Specifically, the teams Miami has to beat to get to the super bowl...Kansas City, Baltimore and Buffalo.
And those pesky Steelers are improving / suspect they will be a factor in the coming years.

I'd probably go pass rusher or defense tackle in this draft. Quarterback is the wildcard.
Hard to say until we get closer to the draft. If we are in the top 5-10 QB is in play. If we are 15-20 I’d say guard or DT if Tua makes it through the season without getting hurt again. Even then I’d get a backup quarterback in the second or third round.

With the Dolphins luck we will be selecting at the worst possible part of the first round. Just after the players who we really need are gone. Probably in the 11 to 15 range.

If thats the case then a trade down would make sense but we never seem to do that even when other teams have interest in trading up with us.

Some player who I like in that range are.

DE Nic Scourton Texas A&M - Chop might have to make a position switch to inside LB. I just don't think he is going to be a good edge player. Phillips is on his 5th year option next year so his future with the team is uncertain. Chubb could be a trade candidate.

OT Will Campbell LSU - I am not convinced that Paul is going to be our future LT.

If we trade down

DT Walter Nolen Ole Miss - Campbell will probably retire after this season and besides Sieler, we have nothing at this position.

NT Deone Walker Kentucky - See above

OT/OG Cameron Williams Texas - OL is a huge need

If we don't draft a QB in round 1 then we must draft one in round 2.

Drew Allar would be a good QB prospect for us to draft and he should be available when we select in round 2 around the mid 40s. Most mock sites have him rated around QB7 in this draft. I think the top tier QB prospects will be gone by the time we select in round 1.

Milroe if the pick is high enough.

Perhaps Allar in the 2nd. I could get behind OL in the 1st and develop the penn st qb while Tua plays / gets hurt

Number one Fire Grier
Number two Fire Grier
Number three Fire Grier
Then the new GM might have a clue and draft good young players to play OL. If Grier is still in charge the draft won’t matter. It will be full of projects and injury prone rising stars and not a single amazing OL for sure!
