Team Needs (Miami Dolphins from Bleacher Report)

The Sherwood thing is interesting he’s a little light in the pants to see as an every down plan a off ball backer.

The lsu tackle will be a starting left tackle from the get go. You’d be moving Paul to guard which might be where he ends up long term anyways left guard likely or making him your active depth tackle both of which would indicate you screwed up using a top 50 pick on him in the first place. And Grier doesn’t admit that very often.

Would love to draft the Oklahoma LB Danny Stutsman. He is a projected 2nd rounder though.

Not a fan of moving Paul to OG since he is so tall. Tua has a hard enough time seeing over the line as it is. I am also not sure Paul would be a good fit at OG. Maybe we roll with Armstead for another year with Paul as his backup. We would take a big cap hit if we release Armstead this coming offseason.

The more I think about it the drew allar thing as a developmental qb makes a ton of sense for us.

Gives us upside in the building at qb and a good frame at the position and tools and we don’t have to invest a top 10 pick in it.

This is assuming the bama kid doesn’t get in our range.

The other Michigan dt will be a high pick also and I like him too.

Time to start studying more Penn state tape.

Im not a fan of it either I think it’s a bust pick already as a tackle he has no short area lateral quickness to recover and when he oversets he opens the door for the more direct route inside redirect to the qb.

To me in a few years especially if this scheme changes which helps the oline he’s gonna be lucky to be our active 3rd tackle.

Ouch if Paul is yet another high draft bust when you think of the talent that was available that we could have had.

Most oversized tackles have elite feet to offset if they don’t have short area lateral quickness.

Paul has neither. You do him a favor when you try to go thru him. That’s when his length and frame can engulf ya.

Use outside speed to gain the shoulder and outside to inside redirect and he’s toast.

He’s gonna have to cheat at this level.

So basically he is not good in space. Maybe we will have to move him to OG. The problem is that I don't know if he has the strength or physique to play that position. I never liked the pick because I knew he didn't have position versatility and he was a project. Its too bad we didn't just draft an OG with that pick like I wanted us to.

So you'd be willing to waste another $15m plus, per season, on a rookie backup QB.

Brother I think that is literally the price you pay for having Tua as your starting qb. It's like an insurance policy that's kind of also an investment because you know Tua has a short shelf life...I may be wrong of course but his odds of playing past say 30 aren't in his favor right now.

Trust me I understand what your saying. But I'm not willing to invest a top 5-10 pick into a rookie backup QB, who might not be much more talented then a QB selected in round two. This is not the year to Gamble away another high draft pick on, what the consensus is saying about 2025 being a weak QB class. This draft class reminds me of the Christian Ponder class. The year Miami selected Mike Pouncey.

It might be wiser to select a developmental type to groom in round two or three and perhaps signing a better backup veteran QB. Just my opinion.

And in addition to finding better options behind Tua, why not develop a dominant run game to protect your QB?

Too early to know on Paul, but we'll likely see him play more this year. Doesn't fit the guard profile IMO.
