Tebow will be starting against us on "Gator Day" in OUR stadium

Sounds pretty stupid to me. Wonder how the Hurricanes feel about the Gators getting a "day" in their home stadium.

The 'Canes, in their infinite wisdom, turned their day down. That's how they feel. **** the 'Canes, let them have their day in front of all 15,000 fans.

Nublar, I usaully see eye to eye with you, but to me this is a big stretch. It may be just a halftime event, but broadcasters will call this Tebow day, and they will go crazy with the coincidence that this will be Tebow's first start this year. They will prop it up and pound on it. If he makes a td, they will correlate it to "his" day.
I knnow what is being said about a meaningless halftime salute, but it won't be.
I find it interesting that this game was offered to the Hurricanes (Orange / Green colors) and then to the Gators, (Orange and Blue). If I didn't know better, Id say Ross and co. are trying to make the stadium look like it's full of ORANGE shirts. Wheather it be Gator orange, Bronco orange, Dolphin orange or Cane orange.
If that's true it's just hard up to fill the statium for the wrong reasons.
Win and fans are in.

The Dolphins offered the Hurricanes a chance to celebrate their national championship win also. The Hurricanes TURNED them down. No disrespect at all from the Dolphins.

This is a NFL game and they are using halftime to remember an important moment in the history of the state of Florida. This is not a college game, this is not a Hurricanes game. I know it pisses off some Hurricane fans, but this has nothing to do with the Hurricanes. This is the Dolphins stadium on Sunday and they have no allegiance to the Canes on a NFL Sunday. If Penn State wins National Championship sometime in the future, I am sure Eagles fans will not care if they celebrate at Lincoln Financial Field, even though the Temple Owls do have home games there. Don't pull the rival card, because Penn State and Temple play almost every year.

As a Dolphins fan, I don't give a crap what they want to do at halftime. They could celebrate the New York Yankees for all I care. These teams are NOT NFL teams and have NO affiliation with the Dolphins.

Your points are valid as usually Nubs. The only thing your not considering is Canes vs Gators is more like Hatfield vs McCoys. Arch enemies that detest each other. Canes hate Gators . Gators hate Canes. It's great for the SFL people because if enough Fla fans turn out it will be like a home game for Denver. What ever home field advantage we had we are giving up .

Well I'm a diehard Dolphins fan and I'm flying out from Denver for this game, so I for one will be pulling for my Dolphins. All you folks should be too. It's a Dolphins home game man, sack up, tailgate, drink beer, and go crazy yelling for the Phins to win one!!!

The way things have been going the last 2 years, maybe 1 less home game is a good thing :ponder:

The Dolphins approached the Hurricanes first about honoring their team from 10 years ago and they denied it. This ploy with the Gators Day is all about selling tickets, Mike Dee confirmed this.

Not sure about that since we haven't won a game on the road this year so it doesn't matter if we're home or away, we suck.

I don't care about the Gators/Tebow thing myself but if I did, I'd find it ridiculous. Especially since it's a ploy to sell more tickets. I don't understand how getting Gators fans to the stadium is a good thing. If they already existed and were Dolphins fans going to games, I'd get it.

I am hoping the Defense gets a Hair across their @$$ and pounds it into the ground.
Friggin Ridiculous celebrating the starting QB for the opposing team

Is it just me, or does this franchise find a way every year to make us the laughing stock of the NFL? Whether it's trading for A.J. Feeley, making Dan Marino a vice-President and then him quitting, giving celebrities ownership rights to the team, or going after a college coach in the offseason while we still haven't fired the one we've got... the list goes on and on and on.

"If the Dolphins' business side has its way, Tebow's faithful will scoop up tickets, which have been packaged as part of a Gator Day experience for $115 per person, as they head to Sun Life Stadium to watch their old quarterback play. They'll dress in the Gators' orange and blue (which happens to be the Broncos' colors), and they'll cheer for Tebow (who will be trying to defeat the Dolphins). And they'll do all of this in the same venue where the Miami Hurricanes play their homes games.

Aww-kward."

Why should you care? If Miami fans aren't buying them, you should be happy someone is so the game isn't blacked out.

Last I checked, the purpose was to sell tickets.

It's obvious to me the FO realizes that Miami fans are finicky and won't buy them.. I can't fault them for trying to sell tickets to whoever will buy them.

As a Canes fan i object to this on religious grounds but i don't expect someone not from miami to understand that and it would take forever to explain so let's take another angle.

Tebow is now the Bronco's starting QB. U of Fla stinks this year and the fans are angry.
I would not be surprised at all if Ross gets his wish and thousands of Gator fans make the trip to honor thier hero in thier enemies home field.
They will all be rooting for Denver and these are loud crazy fans.
When you guys from out of town visit one of the biggest complants is the number of fans for the other teams.
(Jets , Pats)
Well we just gave whatever home field advantage we had away.
It's almost been impossible to win at home and this just makes it worst.
Good for Ross. Good for SFL folks. Bad for the team. (and UM fans)

Generalizing again? You guys? Excuse me.. People from Miami say it. Your media say it.

Don't get mad at me/us. All I'm saying is, if you're not going to go to the game, be thankful someone else is so you can watch it on TV.

i personally think ross is an f_ing idiot and am convinced he is an absolute moron. i dont understand how he has been such a big time player in real estate as long is he has been. he even gets outbid in his attempts to buy failing banks. his staff in the nfl replicates him. as long as he is leader, we will continue to under pay players and get outbid for others. check out my thread "Ross bad business. It explains his retartedness
