Tell me where Ryan Tannehill had such a bad 1st half

And Tannehill takes the blame for barely missing Hartline when he was HIT as he was throwing. Unbelievable.

No one is talking about the running backs except for you. Of course our running game has issues. No one will dispute that. This thread is about Tannehill not playing a very good half of football.

Completed 19 of 29 passes in the first half with a crap running game.....I'll take that on the road.

19 of 29 for 180+ yards at that. Against what is supposed to be a good defense. I want more points on the board too, and Tannehill definitely has more developing to do, but I'm not sure I'd call that a bad half for a QB. Maybe not a good half (i.e. not one to be happy about), but it's not like he made ten bad throws or kept giving the ball to the other team either. The comment somebody made above about him developing, and his floor getting higher and higher seems appropriate.

Stop looking at the stat sheet and go re-watch the 1st half. He left a ton of points on the board. Missed open guys for scores. Plain and simple. Moving it between the 30s is great, but he didn't put points on the board.

He doesn't need to put points on the board,the team does.

We chewed up the whole 1st quarter with 2 drives.Ryan got us in position for the 3 points 15 play 9:10 drive where Caleb missed.The second drive was all Lamar Miller or lack there of,when we relied on Lamar in the second drive we got -2,no gain,no gain.with a 17 yard pass completion in between and a incompletion on fourth down trying to catch the Jets sleeping.

So lets say everyone thinks Ryan had a bad 2nd quarter.Take away the bloop int in drive 3 we're really talking about the 5th drive where Ryan had 3 incompletions in a row.The 6th drive there was so little time we had to kick a field goal on 3rd down.

Thus why I pointed out the 5th drive being his worse.

2nd drive) Maybe it was the second drive where Lamar miller went for -2 on 1st-10 or the (17 yard pass) to Clay on 3rd and 12, Miller no gain on 1st and 10, (9 yard pass) to Clay on 2nd-10,then no gain Miller again on 3rd and 1 and we went for it on 4th down and 1 and passed deep down field to Wallace?....really????

3rd drive) It couldn't have been the 3rd drive because Ryan had one incompletion and the drive ended where he was hit and threw a bloop int.This drive would have been as solid as the 9:10 drive I suggest looking at this drive.

4th drive) Drive started on the 46. 1st -10 (ten yard pass to clay),1st-10 incomplete to Clay 2nd-10 (28 yard pass to Clay) to Jets 16.2 incompletions to Hartline one to Wallace Field goal 3-0 Dolphins.Worse drive

Actually I was wrong Junc, in our 15 win season, there 22 other teams with worse attendance than Miami. We finished top 10 in attendance in the franchise's worst season of all time by far. Oh, and this was 2 seasons before LeBron. Fail.

Of course not, but I think any announcer, football player, analyst, Gm, or coach will tell you that Tannehill did not have that good of a first half and left points all over the field. He's young and isn't there yet....but he played well in the second half and played pretty good overall.

No I think you guys are reading too much into one person said it so another one said it and so on,I watched the game live and watched it after wards and when the first half ended,I saw a few missed plays but the positives out weighed to few passes he missed.

The plays you are referring to were plays left on the field by the running backs/o-line/play calling. Tannehill takes no blame for those plays. He still missed quite a few other much needed plays, still tossed a pick, and still left quite a few points on the field in the first half. He only takes blame for his actions or lack there of.

We can't praise him for every good throw and forget every bad throw! The problem is the throws he missed were all for TDs. Sure he threaded the needle on some nice throws across the middle for 9 yards. He is an NFL QB and a pretty good one. he has to make the big throws that lead directly to points!

The only bad pass imo was the one to Clay. Clay was WIDE open for that route and he flat out missed him.

That "miss" to hartline isn't a miss imo, qbs miss plays like that all the time, it happens. Gannon for some reason decided to keep spotlighting EVERY time Tanny missed a read.

Luck missed plays like that a bunch lately, nobody in Indy is upset with him..
