Pryor will get to play in the NFL this year, after all. The NFL announced this morning that Pryor, the disgraced Ohio State quarterback whose dealings with boosters led to his program receiving major sanctions, will be eligible for the Supplemental Draft after all.

There is a caveat — Pryor will be suspended for the first five weeks of the NFL season, just like he would have been had he returned to Ohio State for his senior season. Pryor will not be allowed to practice or play for the first five weeks of the regular season, but otherwise Pryor won his battle to enter the NFL this year instead of having to wait for next April’s draft.

Just don’t expect him to wear aqua and orange.

It should be obvious at this point that the Dolphins have decided to sink or swim with Chad Henne this year.
But Dolphins fans no doubt will get starry-eyed about Pryor, who stands 6-foot-6, 230 pounds and threw 27 touchdowns against 11 interceptions in 2010, while also adding 631 rushing yards. Why not grab Pryor, the argument goes, stash him on the bench this year and hope he turns into a good quarterback in the future, like the Packers did with Aaron Rodgers and the Pats are trying with Ryan Mallett?

Sorry, but it isn’t happening.

He is a 5th or 6th round project. Most likely a TE or WR prospect. No doubt someone in here will start a thread to get him :bobdole:

No matter how long he ferments, even Helen Keller would understand that Pryor will never be another Aaron Rodgers

Hey - VK and Cuban lay off the H Keller jokes

Hellen Keller was brillliant - but I get what you are saying she was blind

deaf and dumb* too

*that being the term for inability to speak

Not saying Pryor's not worth the risk, but to think you sit him on a bench and he turns into one of the most accurate, elusive, smartest and adept defense reading QBs in the 21st century is stretching it. More likely he's got the potential to turn into another Antonio Gates if he gets his head screwed on straight and keeps his hands out of other people's pockets.

Pryor is the second highly touted Ohio State prospect in the last ten years to disgrace himself and the program while in school and then try to challenge the NFL draft process. The first one didn't work out so well...

Basically a red shirt year that Dolphin fans do not have the patience for so yes pass - Please!

Agreed you can't learn the position by solely watching - in Rodgers case he could have played he was that good but was stashed behind no. 4

I'm sure there are plenty of posters on this board who will bash the front office for making a move on this kid. Thats how bad it is around here these days with all the Madden GM's!

Pryor has to serve a 5 game suspension as well which makes it even less likely we take him.
