Terrence Fede is outplaying Dion Jordan.

If Jordan fails, it speaks equally of our coaches' inability to bring his talents to the field and develop his unique size and abilities.

The reason many players go to other teams and succeed is because they are put in situations that allow them to succeed.

I'm not impressed with our handling of Jordan. Especially when we take him away from what was working last year and his ability to cover TEs to making him put a hand in the dirt and bulk up for stopping the run.

Dion Jordan's unique gifts should dictate he is allowed to roam freely along the defensive line standing and freelance his blitzing and covering TEs. He should be roaming the DL on every play looking for the weakness and finding the matchup to overload.

Coaches like Steve Spagnuolo salivate for this type of freakish athlete to harass the LOS and scheme outside the box.

Jordan should be creating headaches for OCs. Instead, we are letting him become a headache for our DC.

Do you think coaching was the problem with Vernon Gholston? Maybe we should pick him up and try to fix him. He is a free agent, after all.

Its too early to really say for sure. But, it looked like he flashed a lot more and was a step quicker getting to the QB last season. So far he looks slower getting of the line and lazy.

Its very disappointing for sure he was supposedly working hard this offseason but I don't believe a word of that he cut corners with PEDs and didn't get better

I am watching the Dolphins Bucs game now and am convinced that although Jordan is a freak athlete, he doesn't have instincts for squat. He just seems stiff mentally, like he's trying to remember what to do rather than just knowing what to do.

Ireland or Aponte? It's common knowledge Ireland has nothing to do with the offsetting language in contracts. You're right in that we have the offsetting language which is great and something I hadn't thought about, however you're crediting the wrong person

honestly my biggest criticism of Dion Jordan is the method in which our coaching staff has used him. with his athleticism it is gut wrenching to see him not playing at an OLB position where he can be used in coverage against backs and TE, with the option of blitzing to create match-up problems for blockers. we saw flashes last year of his abilities when he ran down Cam Newton from behind and him covering Gronk in the first NE game. i still think he can be a great player, but i question he can be a great player with this coaching staff.

yea that's such a great thing if u wasted the third pick on a player not to mention basically gave away a first and a second to aquire him. That's whats makes great teams friggin offset language

An early star to watch among the 2014 Rookie class could well be TERRENCE FEDE/DE from tiny Marist. He's quick and wiry strong at 6'3/285. He has been hell-on-wheels to block in Training Camp practices in Miami and made his presence know on multiple occasions in the FALCONS game. He was credited with just two tackles and no sacks, but some FALCONS OL were very nervous trying to keep up with his quickness, strength & moves. MIAMI is already high on the pass-rush ability of OLIVIER VERNON/DE and of course vet CAMERON WAKE. FEDE may provide them with yet another pass rush presence.

I think that's part of it. I just think a guy with his natural ability needs to be given the time to develop. Look at OV last year - and he got off slowly. I saw flashes from Jordan last year that were inductive of a special talent. I prefer to root for the kid than see all this dumping on him.
