SI's Peter King thinks the Texans are "seriously considering" letting Mario Williams walk in free agency.

The Texans' defense remained dominant even after Williams (torn pectoral) was lost for the season in Week 5. Youngsters J.J. Watt and Brooks Reed proved to be more than capable replacements, combining for seven sacks in two playoff games. Although the Texans have publicly stated otherwise, it's possible that breaking the bank for Williams won't be a priority.

ever heard of this guy? I heard he is pretty good. Think we go after him?

Ever heard of Mario Williams? Dudes a freak pass rusher.. He'll be getting top 5 pay for his position though so it would be a huge signing for any team that can pull him away from Houston.

I agree with the dude that wrote that article though.. It wouldn't suprise me if it wasn't a top priority for the Texans to sign him. JJ Watt is sick.. Reed is no slouch either, both of whom are young.

Was the ever heard of this guy part sarcasm? He was only the top pick in his draft class.

yeah, it was sarcasm. If I was serious, i'd be posting on thephins forum with the rest of the clueless.

i say we get him along with peyton, bowe, flynn (for extra security on peytons neck) , rg3 (for the future).

that should leave us with just enough cap space to feed the homeless.

He will probably want a huge contract, but he is a great player. I dont know, tough call for me.

I dont see why they would let him walk but if they do he wont come cheep and we dont have alot of cap space as of right now soooooo yeah.

Mario Williams and Peyton Manning? This would insure playoffs are on the horizon. Barring Manning is healthy of course.

This is the one guy i was hoping we would go after. I really hope we move to a 4-3 and this guy would be a perfect DE opposite Odrick. Put Starks and McDaniel at DT and that is a sick line. Tell Solai to go rape someone else for Wilfork type money. He is NOT anywhere near Wilfork's level yet wants to get paid like that. Then you decide if Wake can play OLB in a 4-3 or not. I think Williams is an impact player and Solai is a gap filler at times. No brainer who is a dominant every down player and who is a 2 down player at best. We have the money to spend - Solai's 12+M alone can pay for Williams and another stud player if the contracts are structured right.
