That makes Nolan Carroll our KR.

Gates looks uncomfortable as a returner. I would love to say Gates is the man for the job but based on how tentative he looks back there I'm not sure I can trust him to catch the ball especially as as PR. Look for Bess to be the PR.

Do you mean Bess? Because Carroll doesn't return punts and Bess has one of the higher PReturn averages in the league. He may not bust the big one but can be shifty as hell and get your 10 yards in a pinch which is more than 3/4 of the league.

I'd rather not have Bess returning punts. He's way too important to our offense to risk him just for the chance to get 10 yards on a punt, when he doesn't have the ability to get any more.

Point well taken but what other option do we have. I don't like Gates back there and sure not having Bush back there either.
 
Fine with Carroll back there.. he's not the greatest but he came very close to breaking it a bunch of times last season if he would've just broken one tackle. I don't want Gates back there.. not because he didn't look very good there but I don't want him to get injured, he adds an awesome element to our offense. Carroll is just another guy.
 
i thing gates will be the primary kick returner...maybe carroll though
 
whats diff. the dude will be catching balls 10 yards deep in endzone.

i cant believe college they are kicking at 30 and nfl 35. unbelievable.

not sure i agree with that...with allen being let go carrolls probably your next guy up boundary cb and when we swap sean smith into that rover like safety roll in some long passing downs your boundary cb opposite vontae
 
Among the cuts today were Tim Toone and Aldrick Robinson. I'd prefer either guy to Nolan Carroll at returner, personally.

But if they don't do anything, that's who I expect it to be.
 
as stated before, it's not really going to matter. most kicks will be going in the endzone, or past it.
