The 2006 Boston Red Sox Thread

I didn't say he was good numbnuts, I just said he doesn't suck. He's a decent #4 or 5 for a pitching rotation...hell, he'd be the Red Sox #2 right now:sidelol:

Also, Lidle gave the Yankees their best starting performance of the series.

So I ask again...if he sucks, what does that say about the Red Sox lineup, which could only manage 3 singles?

He's going to say "we're building for the future."

Lidle has come over here and had 3 solid starts out of his first 4. If anyone knows how horrible the Yankees 4th and 5th starters have been prior to Lidle arriving they would know how much of a relief he's been since he's been here. Plus the Yankees don't need him in the post-season, they just need him to keep them in the game every 5th day so they could hold their lead in the divisin and that's exactly what he's been doing!

We don't have Pedro, or the offense we had in 2004.

So because you dont have Pedro its over

Just hope the light switches on in Becketts head, because it hurt me to watch him the other night, I had to change the channel. But if he and Schilling get hot then you still have plenty of chance left, come on your seriously saying its over with still what? around 40 games left and only 4.5 out of the playoffs?

Chicago and Minnesota play eachother now, so thats a great chance to pick up at least a game maybe two on one of them

and for the love of all that is holy, don't blame Francona, Finkle.

Nah this isn't Francona's fault the team sucked. He did blow last nights game but I don't blame him for the season being lost. It's not his fault the pitching sucked out of nowhere and not one person in the pen could get an out.

Beckett has been pathetic this year... it would help if he turns it on, but even so, you must not have watched many Red Sox games recently. The bullpen can't hold any type of lead, in fact Papelbon is the only guy in the pen that can record outs on a consistent basis.

When your starters have struggled like ours, and the bullpen is as bad as ours is, your going to have trouble winning games... nevermind the playoffs.

I think the Sox should try and trade Loretta and get something back for him. They tried to trade him to Detriot for Zach Miner but were turned down.

I think they should bring up Pedroia and get his feet wet in the big leagues so he's ready for next year.

I also have a feeling that Coco Crisp won't be here next year and if he's not traded he will be by 2008 when Jacoby Ellsbury will be here to take over CF.

they actually had a deal in place for Loretta, and told him he was traded, but they backed out at the last minute. They offered Crisp to the ChiSox for Buehrle(shot down).

The Red Sox problem is pitching. When you have only one reliable starter, and one reliable reliever. You're screwed. The Yanks don't have the most reliable rotation(though Wang,Mussina, and Lidle have given them strong innings, and you never know what you're going to get with Unit and Wright), however, they've got a very reliable BP.

Crisp, Kapler, Nixon, and Clement.......goodbye

Agreed. But it'll be harder to trade Clement due to the money they owe him.

The 2007 Red Sox are going to be a very different team (again).

I think the Red Sox season just came to an end....they are not going to win the division or wild card now.

With a healthy Liriano (which happened to be when I made this statement) I said that the Twins were the only team the Red Sox could not beat in a 5 game series. I stand by it..

And Cory Lidle sucks man... I didn't see the game, I had to work.. but I didn't need to see the game to tell you that he sucks.

wasnt this a 5 game series and you got smoked....not one win in BOSTON...point is you guys are cooked and the yanks look great.....you wont have to worry about minnesota in a 5game series anymore

Can't compete every year
when you're trying to infuse young talent into the roster. We'll be better off because of it, but thanks for your concern.
