Every Yankee player who hits a home run gets a curtain call. Hell even Andy Phillips did yesterday in the 2nd inning.

yeah it gets a little annoying but any curtain call Bernie is getting has alot to do w/ the fans appreciating what he has done for so long and knowing this is most likely his last year. He gets roars everytime he comes to the batter's box.

Dammit Rudy Seanez. You freakin' suck.

Hanson is back up, I would have kept Van Buren up and just cut Seanez.. If he can't come in and get an out we don't need him for any long relief.. Its brutal watching this guy come out of the bullpen.. Bring back Rich Garces, atleast it would be fun to watch.. :D

I understand why they do it for Bernie, however I think giving every Yankee a curtain call after a HR cheapens what a curtain calls means. I think the Yankees fans want to be different from other fans in other stadiums and thus are starting to do this. Personally I think it's very cool how they chant everyone's name in the 1st inning. But I think they need to give the curtain calls a rest for important HRs late in the game or for a milestone.

The reason why they put Van Buren down is because he pitched so much in Monday's game. They brought up Hansen because they didn't figure Pauley would go 7 innings and if he was in trouble Hansen could come in and pitch 3 to 4 innings and save the bullpen.

can someone explain the draft to me? it seems complicated.

but hopefully sox help there pitching, for the future

Each team gets one pick each round, however they could get more and a team can lose draft picks depending on if they sign FA. Each FA is in a Class Pool. Pool A is the top FAs, Pool B are the good but not great FA and Pool C are the lesser players.

For example: Billy Wagner was a Pool A FA, the Mets signed him and therefore lost their first round pick. The Phillies, the team Wagner left, receieved the Mets first round pick.

game postponed, no reschedule date announced :nono:

I propose they play a 6 game series in August

The 5 game series in Aug is at Boston, they aren't giving Bos an extra home game so the game has to be made up in Sept- we play the 15-17th so I guess we'll have a DH most likely on Sat the 16th.

Due to the rain out yesterday, Jon Lester might not get called up to pitch on Saturday. He probably won;t get called up at all right now with the way Pauley pitched in NY, that kid deserves at least one more start.

I know, it was just some wishful thinking

OK, i'm gonna say this, and then run for cover...

Would that make them the Paple-bon-bons?

:escape:

It's too bad that the Sox couldn't draft Jeremy too, he was a lefty pitcher. He was picked 500th I believe overall, while Josh was picked in the 1000s. I wish them both luck, however they both can pitch like their brother.

Jon Lester WILL pitch Game 1 on Saturday vs. Texas with Beckett throwing on Saturday night for Game 2. Clement will pitch Game 3. David Pauley is the odd man out, so I guess it doesn't mean anything for a rookie to shut down the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium to skip his turn to let Clement last 3 innings and give up 6 runs. Oh well....

Oh man, I can't wait to see this kid pitch!

He could very well develop into a dominant lefty (sounds nice, doesn't it?). Thank god the Front Office used their heads and didn't ship this kid to Florida in the Beckett deal.

I'm now very excited for Saturday.
