The 2006 Boston Red Sox Thread

Ok, after watching this latest series beatdown can the media give the Mets a rest? Color me unimpressed with that team (although Glavine has been excellent, and he was very good again tonight. He sure has done a nice job reviving his career, good for the local kid).

12 in a row against the National League.. not much you can do besides laugh.

In all seriousness though, tonight was an excellent game. At least the Mets were competitive unlike the first two nights.

PS - Is ANYONE regretting letting Damon walk and acquiring Coco? Dropping the bunt in the 7th and stealing 2nd only to score the go ahead run on the Youk sacrifice fly. Then the outstanding grab in 8th to end the Mets threat. What a great ballplayer...

Of course it's a lucky streak. I mean 12 games in a row wow. Yeah any team who wins 12 games in a row are lucky but not your team right? Please.... NEXT!

Hey you should beat up on teams that aren't better than you. Yes they did it against the NL, however you can't take away winning 12 in a row no matter who you play. Hopefully by the weekend it's 15 in a row.

PS- No. Damon is breaking down even earlier than I thought. Although he's having a good year he has a bum foot/toe, even worse noodle arm and a bad shoulder and yes I know injuries are part of the game but it's going to catch up to him in August/September just like last year.

Damon has been everything we expected and more.

I agree Damon has been good. I never doubted him being good, I even thought he would have over 20 HRs from playing in YS. All I'm saying is that I'd rather have Coco than Damon at this point of both of their careers and especially with the team the Sox are fielding. I think Damon will break down towards the end of the season like he did last year. I have always thought giving him 4 years was too much and still think that.

I'm going on record saying that although the Sox are playing some good baseball I'm not confident in tonight's game vs. Willis, just because the Sox never faced him (only Coco Crisp and Mark Loretta have who are on the active roster) and also because he's a lefty who the Sox never seem to beat. Oh and also because Jason Johnson is pitching and hasn't exactly been good this season.

I hope I'm wrong though.

Marlins vs Sox tonight

The Sox are by far the better team, but im hoping we play up to your level and take 2 of 3.....but im expecting to take only 1 game, but good luck tonight

good luck to your boys this weekend too

It's tough to be disappointed with a team that just reeled off 12 straight, and was forced to beat a very good Dontrelle Willis with Jason Johnson making his first start in a month.

I can't say I was expecting us to take this game. The Marlins have a ton of talent and they were pretty impressive tonight. Hopefully we can get back on track tomorrow night.

And to the Yankee fan, your team sucks.

You win tomorrow, lets not play the game

Know why? Brian Moehler is pitching that = Win for Red Sox, you might score 15 runs tomorrow if they leave him in long enough

Sunday you get Josh Johnson im pretty sure, who is a great young pitcher, he started the year in the bullpen but became a starter a little later on, he is 7-4 on the year with a 2.20 ERA, but his ERA has been even LOWER than that as a starter
