The 800 pound gorilla in the room

The only way is to literally create a “bubble”...like the NHL and NBA. The stadiums won’t have fans; make an isolated environment. House the players. Limit travel as much as is possible.

The answer is clearly Zoom baseketball...the thought of having secret Chinese officials placing bets on American underground baseketball leagues warms my heart and brings us all a little closer.

Leadership will play a role in how disciplined our players will be taking precautions, after all, if one person ****s up and goes out to a club and comes back to practice and puts everyone in jeopardy, they are gonna have to be accountable to the whole team, whichever head coach can communicate this message and have them respect you wins the race.

Whoever has less cases of COVID will have better chances at wins..

Football players in the prime of their life, and the people dying are 65+. At some point society has to function or no MLB, NFL, NHL. or the other stuff. Just what your told to do.

Less travel cited as helping the Dolphins and NFL as compared to MLB?

Travel would probably benefit the Dolphins and lead to fewer cases, considering the number of cases in the tri-county area.

You also have a bunch of different rules in a bunch of different states since this has become so politicized.

And then you have brilliant players doing this:

“He wants to come into town and he wants to throw a big party,” Cox [the local sherriff] told TMZ. “You just got to accept it. I’m ready for it.”

Apples to oranges. It is a valid concern to have but at the same time baseball has poor leadership all around where the players and owners were arguing more about money and amount of games than safety.

Does that mean the NFL will not have issues? Of course not. But the NFLPA and NFL owners have already done a ton more in the effort for player and coach safety than MLB. Theres also less travel.

This season will be a * in the books. What's the over under on 8 games? 12?

One outbreak will shut it all down.

Less travel in frequency. Sure. Mileage and crossing zones, not so much.
In looking at The Angel's schedule (as an example) they are averaging a new city around every 2 days. Pretty sure most NFL teams only play once a week and 8 times those are at home. Traveling, restaurants, airports (even the private jet portion), hotel rooms, hotel elevators, busses for away teams are all some of the most HOT areas Covid wise. Most MLB teams spend multiple times more in these areas than an NFL team. NFL is also far better organized.

He'll be quarantined no doubt immediately for that.

The Brits, Spanish, Italians, Germans, French, and Dutch are are all watching football (the one they play with their feet) now and no one is talking about stopping or canceling even when they have players testing positive. They have a procedures in place and they follow them. And they are beginning their international games soon...

and to think it was only March when Facebook said everyone in Italy was going to die... and now they playing footie.
