The benefit of landing Manning*

The real question is going to be what is peyton mannings interest level in miami? If he is healthy and released by colts he will get to pick were to play.So would manning even have interest in the phins? From what i have heard cards, redskins, titans, and phins are teams connected to manning simply because of those teams lack of QB. But does anyone think manning would really choose the phins? IDK its hard to predict how this story will end.

It would awesome seeing P. Manning in a Phin's uniform, but I would hate to see him get hit in the head/neck and be permanently injured or paralyzed, and having to see him being taken off the field on a cart and never playing or walking again. If I am P. Manning I would just say it is time to retire. Sometimes your life is more important than playing a sport. He has more money than he could ever spend and is a sure first ballot Hall of Famer.

...Or the Jets reaching a SB since 1969? No, I think if Henne goes to the Jets and is allowed to compete (Sparano is the OC, so he would compete), Sanchez would have plenty of time to eat Hot dogs or text high school girls from the sideline once the season started.

1984 was a long time ago too.

Henne would be a good backup, there is not a chance in the world he'd beat Sanchez out unless Sanchez was hurt.

I see all these posts comparing Flynn to Pennington. Pennington was the best QB we've had since Marino by far.

I don't know if the average fan realizes how good a healthy Pennington was, the problem was he could nevre stay healthy but when healthy he always brought his teams to the playoffs.

Oh stop with that . Sanchez is a bum. Henne is only part bum.

haha, if you want to call them bum and half bum wouldn't Sanchez be the half bum since he has actual success in this league?

Moreover, Manning will be 36 this season. Seriously, even if he's healthy, how many years has he got left? Two-three years? Meanwhile, his salary would eat up a big chunk of cap space so that the your team couldn't fill other positions easily.

A team like the Ravens or the Niners might be able to justify paying a healthy Peyton, but a team like Miami is going to spin its wheels and accomplish not a lot. He'll be good enough to win maybe a couple of more games and maybe even get the team into the playoffs as a WC, but he's never going to lead Miami, the Jests, or the Bills to the Super Bowl in the short window he has left in his career. None of those teams is just a QB away, and all of them have multiple serious holes.

It's like mass hysteria named "Peyton Fever" has gripped the fans of all of the AFCE teams except NE.

I beg to differ... I believe that with the pieces that we have in place a healthy Manning could very well lead us to the SuperBowl. Hell, look at the 49ers this year.. Last year they won 6 games and this year they were a healthy Teddy Ginn away from going to the big game..

don't put the Jets down w/ the phins and Bills. The Jets are well ahead of those 2 teams, don't be fooled by one down season at 8-8- a record a Bills fan would kill for.

who would want to kill for being average???? After all, that's what the Jets are.

he's done man....and even if he's not totaly done the big risk is always there.....then you're starting with a new coaching staff and new offence after he's been doing the same thing for years.....by the time everyone is on the same page he could be hurt again or done playing....lets do it right this time. Lets get our own QB

Ozzy rules!!

Why cant we sign Manning and get our own to learn from the best? seems logical to me. Manning is one of the best to ever play, i think he's worth the risk.
