The big bad bengals came 2 town & we beat them so we can beat panthers

I don't think we have a chance here. We have not been able to defend mobile QBs since...well, since mobile QBs exist. I would be surprised if we can make this a close game.

Or it's just that I don't want to have too great expectations for the game because every time I had greater expectations for this team this season, they failed miserably. Well, not just this season.

The Panthers are a better team. The team has been distracted by Ted Wells. The coaching staff is not strong enough to give the team a competitive advantage to snag a win.
You could've made the same argument about the Chargers game.

We beat the 'big, bad Bengals' because they were awful that night, rather than the Phins playing well.

Has everyone already forgotten the amount of dropped passes and Dalton interceptions that took place that night.

The Panthers are a better team where Cam Newton has many more dimensions to beat us than Dalton. Our greatest hope is that the Panthers take us lightly and have an 'off day' like the Bengals did.

I don't know what will happen but if you've watched every Dolphins game you'd have to figure it's pretty close. Also I'd say going in that Charles Johnson on Tyson Clabo was one of the worst matchups we had going for us and now it's Clabo vs a backup which is better.

Is Johnson playing? I though he was injured.

Lol..I love fans like you. If we beat someone its cause they had an off day. Why do you root for the Phins..yeh..Dalton must have stumbled into Wake on the walk off safety.

Yeah I think he's out.

I have been to 3 Fins/Panthers games...Fins won all 3 and Im hoping that streak does not end this week. I am not as sold on Carolina as many seem to be around the league. They are coming off a horrible season & are still building confidence...they are not a perennial power (Pitt,Pats,Indy,Etc) with a history of winning. I also think Miami is stronger against the run than most...that option can be contained if you win at the line of scrimmage.

Bottom line...Miami is more desperate for a win this week & at home (which is usually not a big deal but its better than being in their house)
Defense is the difference...

Miami 21 Panthers 13

glad to hear you love me. Unfortunately, its not reciprocated. I'm in a happy relationship at the moment, but will let you know if that changes :)

Would love to share your optimism about the Panthers, but following the Phins for a number years has made me a bitter & pessimistic man.

Also, stop being a journalist and putting words into my mouth, I only just said the Bengals game was an off day for them, not all the other wins (the Indy road win was impressive, if not for Grimes stopping their comeback endzone momentum) - but I suppose you only watched the overtime safety or refuse to acknowledge the rest of the Bengals game. Some great individual performances yes, but lets not kid ourselves here or give false hope, this is currently no dynasty team so why do you put so much expectation on them.

We're 25th in the NFL against the run. How does that qualify as better than most?

I was judging by what I have seen from this year. The rankings can be skewed by a game or two where big plays have happened but overall I still feel like the guys on Miami's D line can stuff the ends

The Bengals arent in the same league as the Panthers. The Panthers have a much more explosive offense and a much better defense.

The Panthers O isn't that explosive, Cam Newton is when he breaks contain. The Bengals have far more explosive of an O talent wise.

Their D is nasty - no doubt. Secondary is suspect but they hide it well.

Im hoping the cardiac cats earn their name Sunday

You're right that the Bengals have much better and more explosive offensive weapons outside of the QB position. The gap between Newton and Dalton, though, is enough to even that out. Newton and Dalton have about the same YPA (Newton is actually +.1).

We beat them up physically, too (on the D side).

Fix these three things and Miami is beating good teams by double digits: 3 new good starters on OL, upgraded #2 WR & TE.

Fix the OL position play, give some real talent at number 2 WR and TE, and Miami -- even w. defensive weaknesses -- is a playoff team that could beat anyone on a given night.

Had to "thumbs down" due to the slight at Hartline. Lame dude..
