All we would of had to do was trade with the Rams to move up to the 2nd pick and we wouldn't be in this mess. We even could of included Marshall in the deal. Now we are stuck with either Matt Moore, Alex Smith or David Garrard as our qb options next year. Ouch! Yeah, it made real sense not trade a few picks and a player to get perahps one of the best young qb's to come thru the draft in a long time. But yet, here we sit and all we can do is blame no one else but ourself. Seriosuly, a 8 million a year contract offer to Alex Smith. Are you kidding me. Has it come to this?
 
While I would have loved to trade up I don't think we had enough guns in the fight sitting at 8. The Rams still will wind up with a guy they want this year, that they would not get at 8. Otherwise I'd happily give up two 1's and a small drop in position for a franchise QB.
 
No one knows if the Rams would've agreed to trade with the Dolphins. You know, since the FO is so unremarkable in league circles.

Maybe....but I'm sure that even staying with Matt Moore (which is what is going to happen) is better then giving up this years 1st and 2nd rounder plus next year's 1st and 2nd round picks plus whatever else they wanted.

If you want to call not moving up to the 2nd pick in the draft a mistake then you might as well talk about us not moving up to the 1st pick and taking the best and the most NFL ready QB in the draft.
 
Honestly when I saw how much the redskins payed to move up from #6... i was very, very glad we didnt pay to move up from #8
 
Against my wishes, we just need to be content with Moore this year. There isnt an option out there worth spending $ or a high pick on for great improvement. Draft a wr, a te, and finish with the line either in draft of fa. Then hope for the best. We may do well with the new system. If not, we get to start right back where we are next year with a new gm.
 
No. The biggest mistake this FO has made BY FAR has been not drafting Matt Ryan when we couldve gotten him for nothing but the selection and instead taking a LT.

Not trading up to get Robert Griffin the turd was one of the few smart things they have done.

A lot of Falcon fans are ready to get rid of him. IMO, he has been a disappointment too. Much better than what we've had, but hasnt produced enough for the quality of the wr's around him.
