The bottom line....

How long do you guys think it will be before we get a FIRE SABAN thread?? I give it one week into the season.

I don't even give it that long. If we finish the pre-season 0-5, I expect somebody ( /me whistles innocently) to start a "Fire Saban" thread.

  • This is not news to any of us who follow the Dolphins.
  • If the Dolphins approach the 60% roster turnover this year as it looks like they might. It puts us square on track for a 2-3 year rebuild.
  • Saban deserves time to find his players and implement his systems.
  • IMO we address the QB position next year no matter what happens this year. We obviously need to do something about the o-line and secondary and we will continue to need to build depth.
  • Considering the developmental time for the above to show dividends it's 3 years.
  • We can hope to capture lightning in a bottle... or we can show patience.

I cant believe I havent read some putz's post stating that you are all wrong and the Dolphins are going to the Superbowl this year.
quite the wordsmith arent ya.

There's some other things you have to factor into this and that's Miami in most of those Drafts didn't pick prior to the 20th spot, and of course that snowballed into every round. So we didn't exactly get the cream of the crop per round and generally had to settle. As far as Offensive ppl Wanny was bad, as far as his system of D, he generally got good back up ppl...He should have thought starters, but he played the I have good starters, just need good backups..He should have gone for starters for both D and O, especially O. Wanny could never hit on OL..but look at Speilman's first OL try last year, we have both Hadnot and Carey. I think T Tony Pape would have made an impact if he'd stay and gave himself a change, he was all NFLE this year and a promising OL man. Speilman imho, could ID talent, whether it would have been for the Wanny system of D or Saban's..and Atlanta will benefit from having him.
