You can fault a lot of players for a lot of little things, but at the end of the day, our biggest problem today was poor offensive playcalling and poor in-game adjustments.

We did nothing in between drives to adjust to Buffalo's defense. The playcalling never adjusted - I'm not saying better or worse, it just never changed. You know, like that whole definition of insanity? Trying to do the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result...

A lot of people like Philbin a lot and he seems like a really solid person, but he has been consistently mediocre as a game-day leader this season. He's called some good games, managed the clock well, and then he'll turn around and give us a game like this one (or against the Bills last time, or the Bucs a few weeks ago, etc).

A lot of players fell short today - the OL, Tannehill, Hartline, Wallace, Wheeler, etc etc... but at the end of the day, our biggest issues were with our head coach and offensive coordinator. They both need to do a better job if we are going to be a more consistent team.

Get your pom poms out. Phins are in the sixth place today. Phins did what they needed to do so far. Haters gon hate.

Notice how I am not being negative about the overall outlook of the team, just pointing out why we lost today.

If you are misconstruing this thread as "being a hater" - after we got blanked by a garbage team, then you need to turn your blinders off. We haven't won the Super Bowl recently, haven't even been to the playoffs in about 5 years, it's not like Tom Brady has a bad game and people are getting on his case, this is a consistently bad product that needs to get more consistently good. We're all hoping for the same thing, and our direction is *hopefully* improving but today was not good, and coaching is primarily why.

Seventh game with fewer than 20 rushes. The media members covering this team should be hammering that aspect in every press conference and column. You can't even think about imbalance like that unless your quarterback is one of the all time elite guys, and in his absolute prime.

It was a combination of a bad situational spot (home anti-revenge for Buffalo) and bad physical matchup. I'm not going to get too down on our team. That win last week was impressive. New England is smart, resourceful and prepared, especially late in the season. Watching them today I was surprised we edged them when they needed the game. Of course, in our game they were coming off a win while today they were coming off a loss. Big difference on the road. Notice that the bettors have been hammering that trend lately. Today they bet the Patriots from underdogs to favorites while it was the opposite in the Dolphins game, moving from -3 to +1. I heard many media members today saying the Bills upset the Dolphins, despite Buffalo's favoritism at kick off.

I'm not down too down on the team overall, it just can be disappointing to see the offensive playcalling we've been getting on a consistent basis. In fact, poor offensive playcalling is one of the few consistencies about this team this season.

Mike Sherman is to offense what Dave wannstadt was to defense. We're going to line up, play basic football and lean heavy on talent and perfect execution. However sometimes we are not the most talented team on the field or our execution is disrupted. When that happens the are like a deer in the headlights and have nothing to offer as a solution. If anything we get less creative and more predictable. That's when the games spiral out if control and we get results like yesterday.

The Bills played their hearts out. Thats what happened. It really has nothing to do with coaching. Football is mental. week to week. A coach cant control 45 guys mental fortitude in the process of being shown how much hungrier they were for this game.

It has everything to do with coaching!!! Coaching can't control mental fortitude???? It's called motivation meeting preparation!!! We did neither. Again!!!!

I totally agree with OP. No adjustments whatsoever. Did we move the pocket? Did we throw screens? The offense is stupid plain and simple. Whether that's the coach or QB not sure, I feel like this one was on the coordinator. But at some point the QB has to speak up and say "lets do this..."

I'm not sure it's not just a lack of sufficient talent and the fact that the team knows it. Despite the team's recent trend slightly upward, it still doesn't have the pieces in place to establish the kind of dominance in the necessary areas of the team (passing offense most especially). Don't think that knowledge is lost on the players and doesn't inform the goals they establish for themselves, if only perhaps on an unconscious level.

In other words, a team that knows it has the pieces of the puzzle in place would've viewed this game as a step toward getting where it thinks it belongs, and would've likely come out ready to play and win, whereas a team that knows it's capable of only so much stands a good chance of coming out flat in one like this. Couple that with the mental edge Buffalo had coming in, and you get the result we saw yesterday.

The worst game of the season. No team should win the 2 previous games that we did and then come in that flat and unmotivated. The brunt of the blame doesn't fall on the coaches.........ALL of the the blame does. They were not prepared at all and there was zero killer instinct. They looked like a team that came in knowing they should win and got thrown back on their butts and couldn't recover. Unprepared!!

And add another on the list of lowest rushing yards in a game for this franchise. Out of our top 5 of all time, I bet there's atleast 3 on that list from this campaign.

We were out coached no doubt about that, but Hartline had his worst game too.

if he catches just one of those passes the complexion of the game could have been changed.

This type of game is good because it makes sure that the organization is not basing it's actions on the positive press we
were getting for the past few weeks.

The Oline is a problem, the secondary and line backers also need work and the two tackles that want BIG Money contracts may BOTH need to be replaced.

Not sure coaching can overcome an expansion level O-line. I don't think anyone can argue this is the worst O-line in franchise history.
