The Cam Wake Haters - You Know Who You Were

I am not hating on Wake. I want to see him make some plays at the end of games that seal the win. Last year, we had leads in several games, and no one stepped up in the last couple of minutes...games we eventually lost. He is a great player and I am happy he got the big payday..he definitely deserves it, and the way Ireland found him is a great tribute to Wake's talent, but dominant players make the plays that win the games. Maybe all of you flaming me don't understand my point. He needs help to be even better...he can be even better. I am looking forward to seeing VO as the other bookend and both of them making a sandwich of Brady, Fitz, and Sanch-bo.

Just a few off the top of my memory. That last one doesnt show the final play of the game, instead focuses on Starks(who had a outstanding season that year), in which Wake got a sack to prevent the Jags from trying to bomb it. Its really unfair to blame Wake for "not closing out games" when our coaching and quarterbacking have been so poor the past few years. Wake has come up big plenty and come up big in big moments.

I find it highly amusing those who like to point the finger at Wake for last season(cough cough James Walker espn cough). Wake was one of the very few who came to camp in shape and motivated. He played his ass off when our entire team went through the motions. And even in "a down year" he was our most productive player. To blame Wake for our defensive struggles is no different then blaming Long for the right side of our line sucking. Then again, i've seen plenty of threads pop up demanding we trade or let Long walk.

I would rather have everyone who defended Sparano man up.

O.K, I will go first.

Sparano was never on my list of "wanted" coaches. But, once chosen, I gave him my support - almost like "innocent until proven guilty".
But, once his true colours were revealed I petitioned for his removal, which took FAR FAR too long.

Sparano quickly showed that he was a dull, uninteresting, lackluster, archaic, boring, pansy of a coach that hid behind his "cloud-of-dust" tough-guy talk...Revealing a gutless magical prancing pixie-horse afraid of anything more adventureous than a 4-yard pass. There were shades of Olivadotti and his "prevent Defence". Sparano had a "prevent Offence", it prevented us from winning. He tried to cajole, persuade and eventually beg the other team to lose rather than grab them by the throat and force them to submit.

Henne and Sparano were the perfect pair. They were both gutless and below mediocre, with Sparano's only positive attribute being an edge in the "enthusiasm" category. The ONE thing he should have been able to construct was a functioning OLine, and he couldn't even get that right.

Sparano's picture in the dictionary is prominently displayed under the word "Fail".

Trade talk for long is based solely on the fact that he is overpaid by a lot. He is not worth an 11 million dollar cap hit of we can draft a useable rookie 1st or 2nd round for a quarter of the price. Longs price tag was inflated by his draft position but he is in no way worth that amount of money in the new nfl where you are not allowed to look at the qbs wrong.

Time to get with the times and realize who is important.

We will see what happens with wake but if he does not produce this year like he did 2 years ago I'm calling this overpaid.

ahhh the horror of Gibril Wilson in the Patriots and Jaguars videos, one of the WORST dolphins in recent memory, cost them a TD or big play almost every game that season

 no kidding, since we're calling people out for having opinions. Keeping Sparano had a hell of a lot more impact on this team than signing Wake ever did. Were people really that adamantly against signing Wake to the point it's worth trying to call them out now? Did people really care all that much about somebody we signed for very little from the CFL?

Messam is a good example of how it actually was. The majority fall closer to indifferent, with a VERY small number of crazies on the outskirts that think he's going to change the league or single-handedly destroy the team. It didn't cost anything and if he ends up being good, awesome! Low risk, high reward. Wake was the same way.

I see the word "Hater" being used all too much. People who call other people haters for simply stating their opinion are not
capable of understanding or arguing another person's POV.
A hater is someone who is jealous and secretly envies another person.

So let's review, a person's opinion is not hate.

A person's "opinion" that a player is trash solely because he played in another league....is not an opinion......it is a statement.
And the statement is without basis, therefore erroneous and trash.

Thats not really accurate... It is still opinion because, since a player plays in a league that is less talented than the NFL, it may be ones opinion that said player is trash, because they were not good enough to get into the NFL. That is with basis.

I still can't see how anyone was not at the very least intrigued with what he did in the CFL with those numbers, then that video where everyone was trying to get a 50$ bill high pasted on the ceiling, and Wake....all 265-270+ pounds of him jumped higher then anyone to get that bill.

When someone that big, is also that athletic, thinking he is going to fail is much tougher to believe then him succeeding.

I didn't see any videos from 2011(last year) :idk:. Wake is a great player.

My favorite "hater" hasn't been seen since the draft. He proclaims to never be wrong, and guaranteed that Weeden would be available in the third round. Oops...

No, that is still an opinion. It just happens to be one you disagree with. So, this whole thread is to call out people that disagreed with you and happened to be wrong. We could have a ton of those threads considering we have a lot of members expressing A LOT of different opinions about various aspects of the team.

Sorry, but I just don't see the point of "calling out 'haters'" threads and other fellow fan bashing threads.

I just remember one particular Mary Contrary digging in on Wake solely because CFL players "never" successfully transition. But hell, we're all entitled to our opinions although that one was so adamant that I relish reminding him about the pitfalls of stereotyping whenever the occasion arises. Bottom-line though, to each his own, and I do know he's delighted he was proven wrong. :idk:

I suspect he's not been around, not because there wasn't too much to complain about in this draft, but more realistically because the government has had other plans for him.

I've wanted Wake to succeed all along. In fact fact I called it elsewhere.
Just like Roth .... He transitioned well.
Trade Porter after '08 I always say.
