The case for Vince Young

Lots of stupid, knee-jerk and ignorant in these responses.
You're a Longhorns homer, of course you're going to see anti-VY (the only guy who really made UT relevant in 50 years) as some sort of slight. Don't put VY on a pedestal. He sucks. He's a headcase, there's a reason he can't find work. If he were talented, someone other than Father Flanagan in Philly would have rolled the dice on him.

Vince Young is the best option for the Dolphins to compete and win next year.
No, not really.

Why do you think Fisher didn't want to come here? He is an egomaniac and wants carte blanche to run things HIS way.
He felt more comfortable in St. Louis and got to run things exactly the way he wanted. Not sure why you're bringing him up in a "Why we should sign VY" thread.

He never wanted Young and would rather lose than be proven wrong.
He didn't like the choice, but I highly doubt someone as competitive as Fisher would lose just to make a point. His teams sucked because he was constantly rebuilding and never really changed with the times. Occasionally, he'd have a good year, but it wasn't because he underutilized Vince Young. The guy had Steve McNair in his prime and still couldn't win the vast majority of the time.

He drove Young out of TN despite the fact they had a losing record without him.

They both had sabre-rattles with each other, and it ended up costing them both their jobs. Based on the fact that Fisher has a job now and Vince Young's probably flipping Whataburgers somewhere, I'd say that shows how highly regarded VY is in NFL circles these days.

My favorite Longhorns moment was them talking **** leading up to the 1991 Cotton Bowl, personally.

What else do you hang your hat on? The sudden drop off of UT athletics? The one crystal football in 50+ years? Roger Clemens having idol worship?

Earl Campbell was pretty awesome, and so was Ricky. Other than that, I can't think of much.

If they bring in Vince Young I am done as a 40-year Dolphin's fan. I will auction off my 20 or so Dolphin uniforms and just watch college football. A man can only take so much.

2009 - Led 0-6 team to an 8-2 finish after Adams forced Fisher to name him starter, ranked 6th in the NFL in Total QBR, led epic 99-yard drive to beat Cardinals, made Pro Bowl

2010 - best passer rating of career - 98.6 - ranked 5th in NFL before he went on IR after Week 11, 3-1 in games he started and finished, team finished 1-5 after Fisher ousted him following their locker room exchange

2011 - 2 good games, one bad; consider he was coming off the bench for a new team (with a 3-6 record) and new system but played well vs both of the teams now in the Super Bowl

I had forgotten about him but someone had to bring his name back up.....:(

Ozzy rules!!
