The Chicago White Sox Thread

The Tigers just don't lose. Chicago is rolling but they can't gain on Detroit because they're rolling also. Buehrle is a rock at the top of the rotation I think they've gotta get a long-term deal done with him in the offseason.

They're rolling but so are the Tigers and the Twins. Juan Uribe is starting to play well. If it weren't for the amazing year Papelbon is having in Boston Bobby Jenks would be getting more publicity.

Chicago Showdown:
White Sox vs. The Cubs
6-2 win vs the Cubs
Jon Garland pitched well for us today.

Juan Uribe had three hits, including a double and a two-run homer, and five RBIs to lead the White Sox. After giving up two runs in the first, Jon Garland tossed five scoreless innings to earn the win in the series opener at Wrigley.

CHICAGO -- The White Sox scored three runs in the first inning off of Sean Marshall and didn't need much more against the less-than-clutch Cubs offense, claiming a 6-2 victory in Friday's series opener of the Crosstown Classic before 40,720 at Wrigley Field. Actually, the White Sox didn't need much of anything aside from Juan Uribe's three hits and five RBIs.

With the victory, the White Sox improved to 13-3 in Interleague Play this season, 28-24 all-time against the Cubs and 99-74 in their Interleague history. The White Sox also raised their ledger to 19-8 in series openers and have won 18 of their last 23 contests.

Garland is starting to pitch much better. Not very efficient though throwing 111 pitches in 6 innings.

White Sox win today come from behind win, thanks to Mr.Controversy A.J. Pierzynski's 3- run home run to win 8-6.

With the Sox down by one and faced with their last out, A.J. Pierzynski drilled a dramatic three-run homer to dispatch the Cubs. Jim Thome hit his 51st Interleague shot -- tops in the bigs -- and 26th this year, while Joe Crede and Paul Konerko added solo shots.

I have not heard that, Where did you hear it at? I would love to get him.

Rafael Palmeiro said he is continually working out and keeping himself in shape in case the opportunity arises for him to return to the playing field. He hits in a batting cage in his home and has run more this year than ever before. He said he and his agent haven't aggressively pursued coming back and he has no idea whether teams would want him. -- Baltimore Sun

Maybe if we get lucky we can land Palmeiro...please god

:chuckle:

I read it from another poster on FH, I pm him, so I'm waiting for his response. I wonder what role he will play, we do have Brian Anderson in Centerfield. The other big question is what who they want in exchange.
