The Cold truth on how our offseason will go the remainder of the way

Everyone is constantly bringing up these ridiculous threads about players and what we should do. I'm so sick of having to sift thru the entire site to find a few nuggets. People need to chill out and realize our offseason will not be hard to predict the rest of the way and it will go like this:

-We will NOT trade for E James
-We will NOT trade for S Alexander
-We will NOT trade for D Darius
-We will NOT resign D Boston
-We will NOT sign P Burress
-We will NOT sign D Sharper
-We may or may not trade P Surtain, but if we do it will be for a draft pick - no better than a 2nd. We will NOT receive a player in return.
-We will draft a RB with the #2 pick. We will 99% sure NOT trade down for additional picks.

I'm not arguing that it wouldn't be nice to have these players and I agree they could really help us. But the reality of the situation is is that we DO NOT have the cash to make these moves. The entire reason we are getting rid of Surtain is because we will not be able to afford him, not becasue his level of play has diminished. How do you justify losing a high priced player with exceptional skills for another when the entire reason you're making the move in the 1st place is for financial reasons. Use your head people, we simply don't have the cash!!!!!!

When you give up a draft pick for an established player, not only are you giving up a lot of money to sign that player, you are also giving up part of your future that you would have had if you drafted the younger player. Also, the younger player would come at a much cheaper rate.

Well... Maybe you shouldn't be so "SICK" of stuff that ends up happening.

You were dead on except for with Boston. But most people (with the exception of the dreamers) knew we wouldn't sign any of those guys. It was a horrible year to be a free agent RB. They wanted all kinds of money but couldn't get it because of the RB deep draft.

exactly the guy did pretty well. 7/8 aint bad for sure.

Yeah but to get 'em all right excpet for one? - You are a God to me!

I have a few predictions of my own...and I will even guarantee them...here goes...

We will not sign Peyton Manning
We will not bring back Dan Marino as the starting QB for the superbowl this year
We will not sign Ben Rothlesburger to more than a 4 year deal

etc etc....I give him credit for the 7/8...but come on....the were all pretty obvious at the time...even the Boston thing....stuff changes so that one fell apart...

The funny part is bringing it back up...for what it is worth...last year, I predicted that this year
Wanny would be gone
we would still be talking about Ricky
Spielman's future would be in question
Moss would be traded to the Raiders (ok, not really, but if I had....)

anyway, ya'll enjoy GO FINS!!!:D

he wasnt going out on a limb on the predictions. most of the stuff was well, predictable :)

i'm not conceding defeat until i read he is officially inked.

that was my point, the predictions were not bold but obvious. I made the post at the time when there were 8 million stupid threads about how we were going to do things like trade surtain for alexander/edge, sign burress and all the other mumbo jumbo.

the boston thing looks like dumb luck. he was supposedly very close to going to the 49ers at the time and i didn't saban was the type whould would put up with a lot of B.S. with players past. However, that's obviously opposite from the truth: see RW, Crowder, Roth, and most recently Elam.

It looks to me like we could be the Raiders of a few years ago, that is, good talent but a lot of psycho, castoffs from other teams all assembled into one squad that commits a lot of dumb penalties. I think from what I've gathered about Saban so far that he should be able to keep them in line.... I hope...

Doesn't matter. You make bold statements, you get bold results. You were wrong on Boston. Just admit it and move on. ;)

He should have said, until he ACTUALLY plays in a game. The odds would be in his favor considering all the bizarre crap that has gone on with Boston...:shakeno:

Whoops, two truths wrong...what will you now say to make me believe the rest of your "truths"... (Plax was signed by another team, not the Fins, so I guess you are right, huh ?)

I love you folks that come on here and blatantly state your OPINION as fact...You don't know what the Saban will do any more than I do...and neither do I...I wouldn't have believed that PS was going to be traded in January, but things changed...Please refrain from pushing off your opinions as facts...just state your opinions...I'd be happy to read them, possibly agree or dissagree and respond to them...that what this site is for...Thanks
