The Cost for the Phins to Trade back into the 1st- Omar Kelly

I absolutely hate when people post that crap because nothing could be further from the truth. That actually isnt true if you're comparing actual difference makers and pro bowlers

1st round rules. Look up the percentages. the 2nd and 3rd round COMBINED don't even accumulate for half of the elite players found in round 1 over the years (that became great in the nfl)

If you want a bunch of plugs and crappy middling players like Koa Misi (2nd) and John Jerry's (3rd) filling your holes then thats your prerogative, as thats what you'll mostly find in those rounds -- but elite talent wins. Give me two Hakeem Nicks over 8 Misi's and Jerry's, because my team will be better with better overall talent , as I can easily find plugs that can do what they can by other means anyways

The biggest misconception is acquiring more picks in the 2nd and 3rd in move downs would be a good move. NOTHING could be further from the truth. You trade back up into the first round if you can, because the percentages are HEAVILY in your favor that you'll land a difference maker

The draft is all about acquiring the best talent. And it's ALOT harder to find very good to elite talent having a 2nd and 3rd combined (TWO picks), than it is to find very good to elite with just a mid-to-late 1st rounder (one pick)

IMHO, you are usually wrong most of the time, but in this post I agree with you.
Take the elite player any chance you get. Upgrade your talent and fill holes with elite talent from the first round.
For example, replace DT with TRich if he falls to us. It is a no brainer IMHO.

That's only true if you get an elite player with your picks. There's certainly no guarantee of that outside the top 10, not even then if you're reaching due to need, like Miami may this year. So now what? You reach at 8 for a QB who will sit for 2 years, then take a TE at 21? Well thats great. We still have holes all over the place and lack of depth everywhere. Free agency didn't fix those problems. So you work to get more picks instead. It was discussed recently how you don't need to draft a top RB prospect in the 1st because most of the starters in the league were taken later. That's what you get with more picks, better chances to find Demarco Murray or MoJo Drew. Hell, Denver made their superbowl team with a mid round RB.

Tannehill has good upside but too many unknowns to take him at #8. if we cant trade out, take a cant miss like Keuchley or Ingram. Im one of the few who actually thinks Trent Richardson would be sick alternating with Bush. Since Reggie is a FA next year, were going to need to address the RB position and T-rich has ben the best to come out in years. He will make your QB better with Play action and is a beast to bring down. This extra few yards move the chains instead of showcasing our awesome punter every possession.

Imagine we can get Kuechly and Weeden AND keep our 2nd round pick.

Jesus. You want us to take a LINEBACKER with our top 10 pick with our current needs on offense with the players staring at you in the fact right there. I'm so glad you don't run the team

Trade up and be damn sure we get an impact player who can contribute almost immediately. As far as Tannehill I hope we pass. Just can't see what others are seeing.
