If you want to really follow your argument to the end, you have to admit that only a SB win is a successful season. Why is getting into the playoffs and then getting eliminated successful?

I agree and disagree.
Yes, there is only 1 true winner, and 31 losers, but making the playoffs perenially, and improving is impressive as well.
Bills have been nowhere the past 4 years(although 3 of 4 of those years we were expected to suck).
Dolphins had Lamar Smith, and no great receivers, and went 11-5 in back-to back years. Then they get Ricky and miss the playoffs twice.
Dolphins:
2000: 11-5, 1st place afc east, 1-1 in playoffs
2001: 11-5, 2nd place afc east, 0-1 in playoffs
2002: 9-7, 3rd place afc east, no playoffs
2003: 10-6, 2nd place afc east, no playoffs

Bills:
2000: 8-8, 3rd place afc east, no playoffs
2001: 3-13, last place, no playoffs
2002: 8-8, last place, no playoffs
2003: 6-10, 3rd place, no playoffs

As sad as it is, not much separates us these last few years except a playoff win from 3 years ago.

Technically...you were eliminated a week earlier than last year. Since everything stat wise in sports can only be compared against stats at the same time...you got worse.

2001- Wildcard game
2000- Division game

I certainly agree you've got a better chance at getting to #1. Although you'd probably pick a DE that can't play. He could form a club with Flowers, Denney, and Kelsay.

How do you know that having a GM won't HELP Wanny/ the coaching staff ?
