Dont be such in idget.

Read my post carefully. I did not question the 3 players you have brought up because I know they will be starters very soon and have a impact. As for the 4 players i brought up; what is your definition of "immediate" and "imapct". These 4 players don't fit my criteria for either or. Put you teal colored glasses on when reading posts.

"All of the players drafted will make an immediate impact". As backups? Roth? Alabi? Wright? Vickerson?
Vickerson and Roth with both see significant snaps THIS year.

The team is in an upswing for certain, but lacking cohesiveness!! They need time to gel, they'll get it under their belt alot sooner than last year. the o=line has to perform not only in run blocking, but pass protection, what else is new. With Ricky & ronnie in the backfield that should really keep some defensive coordinators up nights. Chambers, Boston, and Booker in 3 sets with a full backfield, we will have miss-matches on defense. Screen, bomb, run,no more 7-8 man fronts, double team the wide-outs, can't be done.

I agree with the exception of the oline. I haven't seen enough to be that optimistic in them. With that fixed QB won't be an issue.

my sentiments exactly.

add this to it , we will go as far as as our qb and receivers will take us the receiving corp has to step up.

:shakeno: Can Bills fans ever be original and see things on both sides before ALWAYS disagreeing with Dolfans? I'm telling you, if I said 2+2 was 4, all the Bills fans would say no, it's 4.012

But we're 0-3 in the preseason. How can anyone be positive.
:titanic:

Good post. I'm an optimist myself, and I agree with the positives.

The 72 Dolphins went 0-4 in preseason.

The 0-3 remark was sarcasm. But unfortunately there are so many on this board who would mean that seriously that it's too easy to confuse.

Preseason means nothing.

One thing that would be nice regardless is to be able to win one of those meaningless games. At some point a win would be nice to build a bit of confidence. If you can't win a meaningless one, how can you have real confidence to win a meaningful one.

I know all the standard responses. So lets make it a question....Would it not be nice to win one exhibition game???

the QB class could be quite impressive if Omar Jacobs, Chris Leak, and Drew Tate come out but they are only Jrs. so you can't count on them coming out

Roth will start next year and be a key guy in rotation this year, Vickerson has looked very impressive and will have a little impact, Ababi and Wright will need some time to develop but thats what you can count on out of players selected in the 5th or later

Confidence comes with winning. This team has to work together and see the positive outcomes. Saban knows this; you hear the type of positive and forward thinking that he is pumping into the players. He doesn’t even talk about winning, just players doing their job. He’s not just restructuring the players, he overhauling the mindset of the whole organization.

I don't know how much improvement we'll see this season but there can be little doubt that this organization is headed in the right direction.

Our offensive line remains a work in progress but at least we have a couple of building blocks in Rex Hadnot and Vernon Carey. I am also very nervous about our QB situation but we are vastly improved at the other skill positions. If the line can open up a few holes for Ronnie and Ricky and provide some protection for our QB, we will score a lot of points.

On defense, I am really concerned about our defensive tackles. We really need one of our rookies to compete for playing time this season, and so far, I don't see either of them doing it. Our other guys are either small, old, or beat up. If we can't find a couple of space-eaters like we had in Bowens and Chester, teams will just run it at us all day. The secondary is starting to play better but depth is going to be a problem. But we're set at LB and DE.

If everything comes together, this team could have a winning season. If everything comes unglued, we could post another 4-12. My expectations right now are for six or seven wins this year, and then a bigger step forward in 2006.

The O-line has enough talent, they just have to gel as a unit.....it will come.

Contrary to your statement, I haven't seen enough out of any of the QB's to be optimistic in them, I do think 2006 will be the year this team lands a young QB in the draft.

Your exactly right, many of the QB's people keep touting are no sure thing to come out next year, if they all stay it will be a less than great QB draft.

Trust me, Bills fans can add, they had to learn when their team kept losing Super Bowls.
