the fate of Tannehill

I know I know....3rd year is the leap year, bla bla bla. I'm not sure if anyone saw the last two games of the year though.
Anyway, I think if it was my job, I would go on two tracks....to develop my current qb as much as I can - with talent and coaches and look for another at the same time.

If Tannehill fails, both him and Philbin will be gone, however, a good GM will have potentially someone in place.

Wouldn't hold your breath in Ryan failing, not sure if you watched the last two games, you know the two games we were out coached in.The Bills out coached us in both games. We made little to no adjustments offensively.

After watching Andrew Luck play this past weekend, I'm fine with Tannehill.

I dont use Andrew Luck to see we are set with a QB,I use Ryan Tannehill.

Tanny is going to be just fine.

I think so as well but the long ball problems must be corrected for him to get to the next level.
i know the OL and running game did not help matters but when there's a receiver that has gotten behind the defense and happens to be one of the fastest guys in the league you have got to make the connection. That's QB 101 and could have been the difference in a few of those close games this year.
The early season fumbling was a big problem as well but at least that got corrected as the year progressed.

Yeah, you know what corrected it? BETTER TACKLE PLAY. He had exactly one fumble since McKinnie entered the lineup in week 6. He had ZERO fumbles over the last 9 games. You figure that out.

I'm sure that had a lot to do with it and like I said it did improve greatly the last half of the season.

I got ya, wasn't taking shots or anything. Just saying that there was a pretty strong correlation between Jon Martin getting demoted / quitting and the fumbles becoming almost non-existent.

Ryan Tannehill will be fine. I'm not gonna try to change anyone's mind, it's a waste of time. The only thing I'll say is that if Gary Kubiak becomes the Dolphins next offensive coordinator, I will make sig/avatar/leave the board bets with anyone here that he's a Pro Bowler in 2014.

The only player he has long ball problems with is Wallace.

He's hit Hartline, Clay, Moore and even Matthews with deep passes. Timing is the issue with those 2, not individual talent.

Yes. I think GM Davenport also mentioned he's got a mechanics issue he needs to tweak.

Dude's a great athlete who sees the field well and makes good decisions. He's going to be good. He just needs some more work. The fact that we won 8 games with the worst OL in football, trash running backs and no bigtime red zone threat should clue you in that he's not quite as bad as he's being made out to be here.

I'm confused how does a member with a name Tannchise want to trade him?

Agree. After all he did double this touchdown passes from the first year finishing 6th in the AFC in TD passes (24) and yards passing as well (3913)
i call that improvement for sure.

We are a QB starved franchise so I'd imagine that we will hold onto him for another 2 years unless he is absolutely horrible. He did show just enough last year to give him this year. I'm definitely not sold on him but I can understand people who are and people who think he's average. I just don't think he looks like a QB who can take a team into the playoffs and put the team on his back. He hasn't shown that to me just ye

Interesting comparison in on of the other threads to Tannehill compared to Rivers after year two. Very comparable.....

Tannehill is our QB. It is a selling point to both OC and GM candidates and he isn't going anywhere.

I will add that anyone who throws for 20+ TDs without an average run game. The Play-action pass, will make all the dif..., 3rd and Less than 4 you would like to leave the D in doubt that you might run, or throw a screen, I have seen very few screens that don't look like screens the moment the Ball is in the QBs hands, the Oline is just not good enough the backs are nothing special - in fact I think they are HOT GARBAGE!!

I'm a firm believer in spending a middle round pick on good QB prospect when you have a number one you like, its good insurance and potentially rewarding investment.
