One of the main reasons (besides having Tom Brady) why the Pats seem to always stay competitive is because Bill B has figured something out that I think the dolphins need to take notice of and try to implement. If you notice, the pats are very UNPREDICTABLE!!! It seems as though Bill B is always one step ahead of his opponents. You never know who their going to feature from week to week. Case in point. Last season Steven Ridley was great for them. So this year with the lack of weapons at other positions you'd think that he'd be the feature guy right...... WRONG. The pats continuously switch things up at the RB position and teams have no idea how they're going to use their RB's. Another example, remember last year when all of a sudden for a 3-4 game stretch they stop throwing the ball to Wes Welker, clearly their best receiver. Why did they do that? My only guess is to NOT BE SO PREDICTABLE. If you continue to do the same things over and over again in the NFL you will NOT be successful. Why? Because NFL coaches and players are very smart. And they study film to no end, so best believe that if you're showing any trends... Teams will pick up on them, take them away and force you to do something else. It seems to me that teams know that we want to throw short quick passes because our oline can't hold blocks long enough to throw deep. Makes it tough to complete those passes when teams know that that's what we're trying to do. I think we started to see the dolphins use some of this strategy against the bills by starting D. Thomas. My guess is that the bills planned and prepared for Miller to start, but we started Thomas instead and the Running Game seemed to get a boost. Maybe it's coincidence but i'm thinking it's not. We need to see more of this strategy. Feature different players week in and week out, throw the defense off. Once week run bubble screens and quick slants with Wallace, the next week have him run more deep routes. And the same with the other players. Gotta get creative.

You mean the cheater? Genius? I think not.

The guy is brilliant. Whether he cheated or not doesn't change that. If he had done what he did as coach of the Dolphins everyone here would defend him. If you have watched enough of the Patriots over the the last 12 years you have seen him constantly change and adapt. Year after year, regardless of personnel, he has built winners. Whether it's been using wide receivers as defensive backs to compensate for injuries, going 11-5 with Matt Cassell, going from a non existent run game to one of the best in the league, getting creative defensively, etc, he knows football. He has the largest library of football books in the world and understands the game on level very few coaches have. Also of note is that neither his former GM, or any of his coordinators have gone on to have any success in the NFL without him, while he keeps on winning. The guy can flat out coach.

People forget that at the time Jimmy Johnson said on Fox that pretty much all coaches, including himself did what Belichick did. That doesn't make it not cheating, but it's not as if he was the only one doing it. He was just the only one that got caught after the league had sent out a memo about it because he got ratted out.

How come Belicheat was NOT a genius in Cleveland?....did he just mature and get smart in New England? Nope. He's a genius because of Tom Brady....end of story.

Bill Bellichick is no genious but he is an excellent in a league that only a few.
Reid McCarthy and Belichick, who else could be considered elite these days.
20 years ago, they would be mediocre against the likes of Shula Cowher Walsh Parcels Ditka, etc.
If you get my point
The good coaches are few..And the Fins are on the outside looking in.

Good point. Belicheat does have the luxury of Tommy Brady, but he does use his personnel much more creatively than anyone else....usually because he has to. The only time I've seen the Emperor outcoached by someone else was by our Dolphins and the breakout of the Wildcat. Sometime he shoots himself in the foot with strategy decisions...but overall he's probably the best coach in the league.

Ditka???? really? Come on. BB has developed into a great HC thanks to Brady, if not for Brady he would be a DC somewhere but he is a top coach and has always been a great defensive coach and can match up in any era.

Go fluff with espn!!!

Rewind back to the Patriots first Superbowl win, the one in which they had no business being in since the Raiders got screwed by the **** RULE! But I digress, all you have to do is watch when Ty Law jumped that out route of Isaac Bruce, with no safety help proved to me along time ago the Pats taped the Rams walk throughs! Pats fans will always tell you everybody was taping!!!! BULL****!! They weren't taping the other teams walk throughs! This was all swept under the rug by Goodell and Kraft! Goodell even destroyed the tapes????? Why wasn't Belichick kicked out for a year like Sean Payton was? Because Kraft is the one that got GOODELL the Commish job!!! There is no doubt in my mind the Pats cheated those three superbowls and steeler players and Marshall Faulk even said their linebackers were running my routes for me! So take you Belichick fluffing comments and take them to the Patriot boards or ESPN,NFL NETWORK and PFT that fluff the Pats on a daily basis!!!! **** THE PATRIOTS and their cheating coach!!!!

your old coach admitted to doing it(Jimmy Johnson). NE didn't win b/c they were taping teams.

Actually, it's not the end of the story. It's not much more than a chapter.

Did Brady play defense on those Pats teams?

Don Shula had Marino and Griese, Bill Walsh had Montanta, Landry had Staubach, Noll had Bradshaw, Shanahan had Elway.

Why didn't Gruden win a Super Bowl in Oakland? Why didn't Dungy win one in Tampa? Why Didn't Shula win one with Baltimore? Why didn't Shanahan win one with Oakland? And on it goes. Did they just mature and get smart when they went to other teams?

Are you going to invalidate those coaches as well because they had Hall of Fame quarterbacks and had more success the second time around?

Jimmy never taped walk throughs and that's your opinion! Steeler players will tell you when the lost the AFC Championship game, that the Pats defense knew every play they were running, and that doesn't come from film study! Since you're an expert, why haven't the Pats won anything since they got caught, when they have had way better teams since the teams that supposedly won Superbowls?? Don't tell me Bruschi! Because he's the most overrated player I have ever seen, he was a PILEONNER!!!

You do realize they have been to two Super Bowls, 4 AFC Championship games, and made the playoffs all but one year since they were caught? They have actually done a ton of winning since that point and you can't realistically believe that they have been as good as the they have been over that time period, yet the reason they haven't won it all is simply because they weren't video taping walkthroughs any longer.
