Practice Squad
It's hard to even talk about this game. It was like a nightmare unfolding before my eyes. I respect Lucas and totally expected him to do well. If not stand out, at least be an adequate caretaker that would not hurt us. He not only hurt us, he frigging killed us dead. The passes that weren't picks were mostly uncatchable, his decisions were horrible. He threw when he should have run and in my opinion choked in front of a sellout crowd at home. The Coaches really have their work cut out for them to get the troops to rally around this guy after such a pathetic performance. We counted on him and he left us holding our jocks. I remember Tom Matte, a halfback, sub for an injured Unitas in an emergency and play 1000% better than, somebody said Ray Charles. Today it fits. Where did he go after the first drive? Did he fall apart after he took that hit? I only hope that during the bye week and the week of practice before Green Bay we can figure out a way to instill poise, confidence and game plan that takes Lucas out of the role Mr. Do Everything (badly) to more of a caretakers role. My confidense in Ray Lucas is shattered. I've never seen one guy so totally cost his team a game. After 3 picks I'd have tried Rosenfels, wasn't it apparent it wasn't Rays day. Did we really need to see more? We better shop for a veteran fast, this guy will take us down the tubes. I see nothing to build on with him, he just sucked from stem to stern. Having vented my displeasure it is proper to congratulate Buffalo on a game well played coming into a hostile envirnment and emerging with a victory. I was vocal before the game about how we were going to kick your butts so I must give props to Bledsoe, Moulds and the rest of the Bills team, great game by Nate Clements. Jay can't come back fast enough for me.
