I totally agree... When jefferson in the line up the Heat have problems macthing up against him.
he's the one we have the most trouble with, let Vince Carter do what he will some times he's off and others he's on but when Jefferson and Carter are on than they are hard to beat

according to this Jefferson will likely sit out tonight with a bone bruise http://www.nba.com/news/291201.html

He just came back from missing half the season. He had 9 pts on 3 of 7 shooting in Game 1, 14 on 5 of 12 shooting in Game 2, 23 on 8 of 20 in game 3 and 17 on 4 of 11 shooting in game 4. His totals were 20 of 50(40%) for 63 pts(16 per game). He is a creer 48% shooter and since yr 3 he has averaged 20 pts/gm. The other night in only 23 mins he was 7 of 11 for 20 pts. There is a huge difference btw the RJ of the other night and the RJ in last year's playoffs.

He played well in that series, below his averages..yeah..but well nonethless after coming off an injury.

That's the nicest thing you have ever said about the Nets:D

You are not looking hard enough. I had said that the nets were finals contenders if they got Antoine Davis and Abdul Raheem. Didn't happen, but I still liked your team. I have said that I love jefferson's and Kidd's games..two of my favorites..Krystic will be a really good one...but come on...I would love to throw Jason Collins and Vince off a cliff.

Oh stop it. carter didn't even have a great game yet he still put up good #s and made the key plays down the stretch. You want a whiner look no further tha Wade who thinks he is fouled on EVERY play.

Wade is fouled on every play. He does whine though.

He is a little dramnatic at times but he gets hit hard alot, he's always vulnerable w/ his athleticism around the rim and he's going to get hurt from time to time but he always gets back in the game.

You can keep Vince. I will just leave it at that.

yeah b/c Wade doesn't go to the FT line when he's not touched or barely touched:rolleyes: Stars get calls, it's that simple.

Wade has been thrown to the floor twice in these playoffs...NO CALL. Nocioni slammed him Bill Lambieer style and Wade got...NO call (game 1). he does ***** alot though.

i notice how you never complian about wade complaining when every time he gets any contact at al he i busy whining to the refs.

Read the thread. Wade initiates contact. he looks for it. Vince is too much of a little girl to want any contact or seek any contact.

He was there visiting his old teammates. He is a BIG gamble, makes a ton and has not been healthy since leaving NJ. If he's anywhere close to healthy he can put you over the top but it would be a rsiky deal based on salary/injury.

As for Kenyon Martin...I said what I said because of Riley's fetish with PF's...he wants a true PF and the rumor mill is that Riley wants a real power forward and deal Haslem or bring him off the bench.

I think having Richard Jeferrson sitting out game two greatly increases our chances. We need to win this game. And our perimiter shooting needs a swift kick in the ***. Also, what's up with Antoine and J. Will letting them blow right by them. It only leads to Shaq picking up fouls in the paint. Needs to be fixed. And someone give Kidd a roll of toilet paper to whipe his *** after that performance.

Keys to the game:

1. J-Will: he needs to realize why he was brought here. he was brought here to have a speed advantage versus all the EC PG's..he can blow by Jason Kidd at will. Just do it. Force the action.

2. SHAQ: Use his finesse game. Run to the front of the rim. Collins should foul out after 2 quarters if he applies this much pressure. Forget about power moves, they are looking to blow the whistle on him. He needs to Spin baseline or use his drop step. Dominate.

3. Posey/Anderson: Get into Vince. He didn't take to physical defense in game 1. Do it again. it is more important now. Use all fouls that Anderson/Anderson/ and Posey have.

4. Wade: Just be Wade.

5. Toine: play a good floor game. be controlled. Try to get the switches to put you on Krystic in the post. Then bring him out...insta foul coming..Krystic in foul trouble..good thing.

Mabey b/c neither of them have been able to guard anyone on the perimeter in their entire playing careers? Wade is bad enough...teaming him with those two on the perimeter is just asking for trouble. Payton and the Andersons need to get playing time if Shaq is expected to stay on the floor more than 5 minutes at a time.

definitely I don't know what he's talking about, Wade gets tons of steals and blocks. he's a complete player

From a purely personnel perspective, Martin makes sense for the Heat. If healthy, he's the kind of belligerent, sharp-elbowed, glass-eating thug (and I mean that as a compliment) that would thrive next to Shaq and would also look good running the fast break with Wade and Williams. But from a financial and cap management perspective, he doesn't.

just saw this and wanted to share it, Shaq really brings down the house when he wants to  http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2909977300513972963&q=Shaq

I remember that play, That was his rookie year of '92-'93. That's Dwayne Schintzius , Derrick Coleman, Drazen Petrovic(my favorite Net and had he not died in '93 the Nets would have become a big time team back then), Sherman Douglas and Chris Morris. That team was fun, they werre just learning how to win again and then the tragic accident took Draz:(

Well, Martin's a mortal lock to be moved in the offseason. But as I understand it, the Heat aren't interested in paying the luxury tax, and Martin's got a max contract. Unless Rob Bab****, Isiah Thomas, or someone of a similar intellect takes over as GM in Denver, they're not taking back Antoine Walker's contract. A package of James Posey and Udonis Haslem might work, though.

Here's the biggest problem with a Martin trade: he's got a big, fat long term deal. The Heat will presumably offer Wade a max extension after next season. That will pay him around $9M in 2008-9 and $10M in 2009-10. They've already got Shaq inked at $20M per year through 2009-10. If they take on Martin, that's $14.1M in 2008-9 and $15.4 in 2009-10. In other words, the Heat would have $43M in 2008-9 and $45M locked up in three players in 2009-10. If you're not interested in paying the luxury tax (and as I understand it, they are not), it's impossible to build a successful team that way.

Martin's going to the Knicks. There's not a bigger lock this offseason.

Nice post, good read man.

As it turned out...the Heat will pay a luxury tax because of the Derek Anderson trade.

Micky Arison last summer said that he would allow Pat Riley to pay a luxury tax if the RIGHT player came along..but only the right player.

Whatever that means.

BTW..what is Jason Kidd's contract situation?

Like I said..Eddie Jones will be cut, and you can add Ruben Patterson to that list as well of impact defenders that will be cut.

Exactly

Thats why I say Kobe and Wade are the two most complete players in the League, they can dominate scoring but also play very good defense

Even down 25 Wade was getting in the passing lanes stealing balls and trying to get some quick points, you can see it in his eyes even when were down big he is thinking 'This game isnt over yet....' and he will never quit on you, and IMO Wade is the most athletic shot blocking guard in the league, cant count the number of times he has flown out of nowhere to block an easy layup or shot
