The legend that is Wade gets it's first chapter written tonight.

You and I thought the same thing. I've couldn't have said it any better...I dont know about the town buzzing, but i know ive been buzzing (in a bad way, pissed!)since the last game.. WE NEED TO PUT THIS TEAM AWAY TONIGHT!!!!!

Pat riley told the radio and news stations that wade had the flu..just heard it on 790 the ticket not to long ago..did anyone else hear this??..but they said he will play and be in the starting lineup..now im nervous about this game even more...

edit..i see it..yall knew..hope its not too serious

We better win tonight. If we lose..the pressure will be right back on us...

Alot of negativity from Heat fans on 790 about the "cursed" nature of the Heat franchise...

People need perspective.

4 moments doesn't make it a curse.

A) The Allan Houston Shot.

B) The failure again to the Knicks.

C) Zo with his Kidney problem the year that we were Finals favorites.

D) The SHAQ and wade injuries against the Pistons last year.

NOW..look at their luck as a franchise:

A) The Knicks suspensions that helped the Heat make the ECF's that year.

B) An erroneus report of Caron Butler testing positive for a banned substance might have contributed to him dropping in the draft.

C) Anthony Carter's agent forgets to file an option on his contract that allows the Heat to open a salary slot that they used to sign Lamar Odom, and make an offer to Elton Brand.

D) The Heat winning a meaningless game versus the raptors after being down by 18 in the 3rd quarter allowed them to have less ping pong balls in the lottery. That win prevented the Heat from getting their prefered player in Chris Bosh. Dwyane Wade drops to them at #5.

E) They use their earlier luck in getting Caron Butler and the Carter mess (Odom) to trade for SHAQ.

F) The brawl at the palace ended Indiana's place in the EC as contenders and thus made them trade Heat killer Ron Artest. That alone helps Miami AND Detroit along into the ECF's the last two years.

and there are many more.

relax guys..it is our night tonight.

Heat Fans need to keelhaul this Bill Simmons character for this heresy. Especially the last part about Wade. PUH-LEASE!!!!

"Question No. 10: When Wallace violently stuffed Shaq's dunk during Game 5, did Shaq's reign as a dominant center officially come to an end?

I say yes. Five years ago, Shaq would have either broken Wallace's arm or stuffed him through the hoop with the ball. Now he's looking like Sam Elliott's character during any of the fight scenes at the Double Deuce -- a little overwhelmed, surprisingly feeble, getting by on reputation alone. He's still good for a 20-10 every night, but his body has pretty much straightened out -- he can't bend his knees anymore, which kills his explosiveness when he's standing still (especially on putbacks around the basket), and he's starting to get that clumsy, mummy-like feel to his game that always destroys centers in their waning years.

Again, these are just flashes, but they're happening more and more, and he's inevitably headed for a serious decline over the next 2-3 years. Hopefully he won't hang around for too many seasons like so many other great centers did (Kareem, Parish, Gilmore, Hakeem and Moses, to name five). I always appreciated that about David Robinson -- he could see the writing on the wall, so he retired and never looked back. Then again, he was the only All-Star center who cracked 1300 on his SATs.

(By the way, if you were Dwyane Wade, and you were trapped on a team with aging players and no cap space, and you knew Shaq's career was winding down ... would you be that eager to sign an extension in Miami this summer? Or would you want to keep your options open? He would be CRAZY to sign. If that were me, not only would I be planning my escape, my No. 1 goal would be to find a city where the fans didn't dress in all-white for big playoff games like they were attending a theme wedding in the Hamptons. I'm picky that way.)"

That idiot Bill Simmons obviously forgot Hakeem the dream making a fool out of SHAQ in the finals that one year. That was 10 years ago.

Huh? When he talks about Hakeem hanging around too long, I'm pretty sure he means Hakeem's less-than-stellar run with Toronto, which was roughly 9 years AFTER the Finals where he obliterated Shaq.

Yeah and Kareem won championships when he was older than that! Not to mention, I'd play on crutches if I could make a million bucks a year. That article really pissed me off. Why would wade wanna leave? He loves it here.

I was talking about how Bill Simmons said that the Ben Wallace's block of SHAQ was the sign that SHAQ is done, and that SHAQ was never humbled like that before.

I pointed out that he was made a fool of by Hakeem more than 10 years ago. Including many block shots.

Fine and well, except he never said that Shaq had never been humbled like that before. He said that 5 years ago, he would have broken Wallace's arm or stuffed him through the hoop...which is probably true. The point he's making is that Shaq's not nearly the dominant force he was five years ago.

He's not

BUT

He isnt over the hill either, you try and single cover him and he WILL beat you for 25+ points and 10+ rebounds, and thats good enough for me

I was just req'd to give my predict:

Heat 109 Pisstons 90

looks good, no?
edit-or is that WAY too high??
