I didn't see the game so I really can't comment.

You should have left it at that...

They played GREAT team defense...

You really needed to see the game...their defense lacked in a couple of spurts...in the 2nd and 3rd period...

The Pistons were shooting lights out from three....they outscored the Heat from three.....33-3. I'll repeat...THIRTY THREE to THREE. They shot 55% from three...and all but 2 were contested...

You can't guard a three from Sheed...you can't...they guy is 6'11 and he isn't getting a 3 blocked....

Hey...Just look at the Play by Play of the 4th....the Heat forced 15 TO's in the game....

They played GREAT team defense....end of story, and if you didn't see that fact...then you just didn't see the game.

WRONG. He didn't get it off in time...the refs said so.

Well I saw the game and didnt see that. I saw great defense for one quarter, and average d over the rest of the game. There is no doubt they were trying, which isnt an everyday occurrence for the likes of Shaq and Walker, but there still is a long way to go before I would call it great team defense. Still no communication....you have two players rotating to cover one penetrator at times leaving wide open jumpers.

You didn't see the aggressiveness we went after their ILLEGAL screens? Wwe weren't having any of that crap...and I jumped out of my seat in excitement when I saw Toine Walker (of all people) BULL DOZE McDyese to get out on Rip and force them to rotate the ball...

The 4th quarter was just defensive mastery...I hadn't seen Defense like that since the ole' Heat days....

Maybe Anderson won't have his health issues come back and he can be that perimeter defender that we need.

Miami is without question, behind the Detroit Pistons in terms of how great a team we are. This is not a great team. This is a very talented team. Big difference.

The one player on this team you cannot question is Dwyane Wade. He is gonna give his all every night, and if he has an off night, he's gonna help the team defensively, he's still gonna bring the energy, and he will always get to the free throw line. However, each and every other player on this team is a HUGE question. Shaq is playing excellent basketball right now, but for how long? His rebounding is down, even though he's starting to be a force inside again, OFFENSIVELY. To me, the second most consistent player this team has had this year on both sides of the ball has been Gary Payton. He's been doing it all for this team this year, although I love what we're getting from J-Will. If Jason Williams can stay healthy, our backcourt will be in wonderful shape, with Payton playing the crucial minutes and providing veteran leadership and tight defense. I don't have much to say about Alonzo Mourning, because when he's in there, you get 110% effort on every possession, and he's been a fantastic player for us all year. Udonis Haslem is finally starting to play better, but he tends to disappear against the elite squads like Detroit, Dallas, San Antonio, & Phoenix. James Posey is a huge question every night. I thought we'd get a sure three point shooter who would bring a great defensive effort every night. However, Posey has been a fairly inconsistent defender this year to say the least. Antoine Walker is a player I refuse to comment on. He's a very talented player, but I cannot stand the man as a player and I wish we could find a way to send him elsewhere for a SF who can shoot the ball and is a somewhat good defender.

This team is not going to win anything with Antoine Walker. I promise you that. When it comes down to Detroit in the Eastern Conference Finals, Walker will surely disappear and/or screw it up for us in crucial situations of the series. I think this year is a wash, because guys like Peja and Ricky Davis are already off the market. I'd love to see us trade Michael Doleac and another player to the Cavs for Damon Jones, a rumor posted up by Ira Winderman in the Sun-Sentinel about a week ago. Gary Payton can play the 2-guard, and we do need a player who can sit back and hit a three whenever you ask him to..

we dont need damon jones..he's even worse at defense

yes to ur first one

and no to ur 2nd cuz u have no home team dosen't matter who u root for then

There's an NBA team in Montana??

I wonder if Antoine Walker has ever hit a shot in his life.

Not clutch. Not big shot. Just whether or not he's actually put the ball in the basket before. Because it never seems to happen when I'm watching the Heat.

I know the Heat coaches love his attitude and what he's done in practice. But it just ain't happening in games. If he can be traded, I'd like to see it happen. But Riley would be admitting he made a major mistake very early. And I'm not convinced he's ready to do that.

It was encouraging to see Shaq motivated out there. Everyone not named Shaq was really struggling out there offensively while Detroit played great on both ends. And yet we were still in striking distance at the half.

This team has a ways to go, though. There are still too many defensive breakdowns. Still bad shot selection by the usual suspects. It was a nice effort game. They were trying out there. And yet Taradactyl was still wide open for the game winner. That close to erasing everything we achieved in the 4th quarter.

But again, it was nice to witness that....despite our numberous flaws.....we were right there with the TEAM of teams as they fired on all cylinders.

I'd like to see that. We have very little perimeter presence. For two consecutive games, we've seen the lights shot out. And we have no answer for it. Yes, D-Wade got hot. But he's little to no threat outside the arc. Teams give him space out there. Damon Jones will make people pay.

But he'd be coming off the bench here, like he should.

You cant blame UD against guys like Dirk, Sheed, Tim Duncan, not many PFs can hang with those three.

D Wade is an amazing player, period. Id take D Wade on my team over any other player in the NBA except for LeBron.

Shaq has 3 months to prove that he is still the biggest, baddest dude in the NBA. Remember when the Lakers were winng them championships they were never really good in the regular season. Shaq always came on late. Hopefully this is true this season also.

I saw the game again......

The defense that Shandon Anderson played on Rip Hamilton in the 4th was INSANE....

If this guy stays healthy...we got our perimeter defender and I would now change my mind and say that we need another 3 pt. shooter....

Shandon Anderson already owns Vince and Jameson....he insisted on playing Rip Hamilton ONE on ONE in the 4th yesterday...Riley set him loose on Rip...and we saw the result.....

The key is this...they are gonna set illegal screens....if you let yourself get screened you will lose...JUST RUN OVER THE SCREENER....that's how you play these guys....gawd...I love thug ball.....:sidelol:

I'll give you the 4th quarter...Anderson, Payton, Shaq, and Haslem were all really trying out there. Payton, Anderson, and Shaq know what they are doing.

The negatives: JWill is just a bad defender....any decent point guard can blow by him with ease. Wade has all the ability in the world and makes some amazing plays as a help defender, but his on ball defense is still sub-par. Rip had no problems getting free. I wont pass judgement on Posey yet....I still think hes getting used to this defense. It was a lot different in Memphis with those mobile bigs they have.

Ranting about illegal screens is pointless....players move when they set screens all the time, it gets called if the ref is in the right mood. Anyways I really think the lineup should be changed. Start Payton and Anderson. I'm not saying play them more minutes, just have them playing more with Shaq. When Mourning is in there he can compensate for JWill letting everyone by him and JWill can compensate for Mourning's offensive inadequacies.

I like Williams but Payton is better but who do you start Anderson over? Posey is a good defender and should start, I think you should leave the line-up alone but give Payton and Anderson more time on the court. The Heat have a great team, once they figure out the chemistry they will be monsters. The Heat are gonna win the finals!

What's with all the JWill bashing? He's having an incredible season. He's probably struggling a bit because he just got back from a finger injury.

No way Payton should start over him because of one good game. Also Jwill has been playing pretty decent defense this year if you ask me. He's definetly not a lock down defender but he's quick and can interrupt those passing lanes. Gary is a better defender though, there is no arguing that, he's done a great job.
