the Heat need that defensive stopper in the backcourt after they lost Eddie Jones ,but at the time they made the trade walker was the best available option for them, actually they got J Will and Posey in exchange for E. J.'s bloated contract . Hopefully they can dump walker somewher in the mid season and grab some defensive guy eiher a shooting guard or another small forward.

I was with ya till you said dump walker....

People forget why last year's heat team lost in the ECF...

Fine...Injuries probably kept them from winning the series...but it did go 7..they could have won some of those other games....Why didn't they? because they had ZERO scoring punch off the bench. Walker has given us that...and he is part of our best lineup...a lineup that is +8 points per game vs. all their opponents (J-Will, Wade, Payton, Walker, Shaq/ZO).

They do need a defender but they need to look elsewhere besides trading walker to get him....

Shandon Anderson is finally back healthy...and we all know he is the Vince Killer, and did a great job on jameson in the playoffs last year along with some big efforts during the regular season....maybe he is that energy/defender player we need.

So why did the Celtics get rid of him then?.TWICE.Itll take more to change my mind about Walker.I dont see how hes that valuable to a team.

The first time the Celtics got rid of him in a trade that sent him to Dallas for LaFrentz and Jiri Welsch, Danny Ainge admitted he made a mistake. Welsch, who was supposely the young prize of that trade, never amounted to anything in Boston outside of a major headache.

As for the Celtics not resigning him this past offseason, that comes down to one word, MONEY. The Celtics weren't about to tie up more of their cap space in an aging player when the organization was clearly rebuilding. It's that simple.

Two things...

You are basing your opinion on the heat's offense on one game? That doesn't say much for your knowledge. FACT is..the Heat has the 4th best offense in the NBA...PERIOD.

As for me thinking that the Heat will go far in the playoffs....the ECF is pretty far...and they will be there.

Watch a game will ya.
Well I hope your 4th ranked offense gets you to the Finals.I dont see it,but I hope so,I really do.As for watching a game I do and will continue to.Love to see a Spurs-Heat finals def more interesting than the Pistons.Good luck.

Well thanks.

But I definately don't see them in the finals as of now...I see them losing 4-2 in the ECF to detroit....

But hey....we will see how they play against Detroit the rest of the year...hopefully the loss by Miami in Detroit earlier in the year wasn't an abberation and we do matchup that well against them. That might have been game of the year so far.

The Heat still need a perimeter defender or I give them ZERO chance against Detroit in the ECF.

Interesting stat I found out for today's game.

Miami is 1-9 against the other division leaders, with the only win coming over New Jersey in the first week of the season. They're a combined 0-7 against Detroit, San Antonio, Dallas and Phoenix, owners of the NBA's best records.

It's best to ignore the guy. This battle has been fought before and he's secure and content in his ignorance. So good for him.
