Wade has been sick the last few games...he just has some viral infection. Might as well rest him....everyone else seems to be taking a break.

Yeah, he tends to play well against teams like Toronto, Charlotte, New York, Houston, etc.

If this was against Detroit: 4/16, 5 TO's

Why can't this big ****ing dummy play like this on the regular? All he has to do is allow the game to come to him. In the playoffs, he won't be a huge factor with all of our guys healthy...if he would allow the game to come to him instead of constantly forcing what's not there, then maybe I'd show him more respect. I'll never like the guy as a player, but maybe I can gain some respect for him if he stops playing like his basketball IQ is invalid. And, he's gonna have to show me that against teams that are actually worth a damn.

Yep, and things are certainly going our way tonight. Like I said, all we have to do is take care of our own. We control our destiny from here on out to determine who gets that #2 seed. However, it'd be nice to win a couple and have New Jersey lose so that we can rest Shaq & Wade for a game or two.

NBA league pass is a beauty. When this game is done, the 2nd half of Chicago & New Jersey should be in play. Right now, it's a pretty tight game with only a minute or so left in the first half. Chicago has been up for a while now, although not by many. EDIT - Chicago is up 48-45 @ the half, w00t.

Derek Anderson with another impressive night. And hey, Shaq's got a TRIPLE DOUBLE! :cooldude:

it was a good night for the Heat. Shaq got a triple-double, Walker put up 32 points and the Heat had 5 players in double figures with Wade out

Wow I wish Walker could always play like this very inconsistent... but we'll see.

Yeh I wouldnt hold out hope for a repeat performance from Walker....unless Wade stays out another game. He almost looks like a less athletic Odom at times. He needs to be continually involved in the game and have the ball in his hands. Like Odom, when he doesnt get his shots or touches, those bricks from downtown start looking really ugly.

Unfortunataly for the Heat, they have two desperate teams in the Bulls and Sixers coming up next. A Nets loss would be nice, otherwise the Heat need 3 out of 4.

The thing about Toine is that he performs well when he is played with the second unit w/ZO and MINUS Wade.

Toine hasn't played well all year as the third option on the floor.

He needs to be played as the second option or the first offensive option for him to play well.

The thing is....the alternative to Toine was really Michael Finley...and Toine has outplayed Finley this year.

When Toine is on the floor with Wade and SHAQ, he defers too much and changes his game for the worst...it has been that way all year.

The real alternative to Antoine was Gerald Wallace, but noone outside Charlotte knew who he was. Why noone was smart enough to pay him still confuses me. How often does a 23 yr old uber-athlete that plays defense hit the open market?

I'd still take Finley over Walker, at least he can hit the open three and didnt sign a disasterous contract thats virtually untradable.

I was the first one on this board touting Gerald Wallace....

Somehow..it didn't happen...

As for Finley "still hitting open three's"....

Isn't Walker shooting a better percentage than Finley from three?

BTW...magic number is now ONE.

We got the #2 seed basically locked up...so the rest we need is gonna come...early.

Finley is hitting .386 from beyond the arc. The real difference between the two....Finley has played ok off the bench, and was lousy when forced into the starting lineup. Walker has had his best games as a starter. Unfortunately hes not here to start. Finley is the better player and chose the right team.

Gerald Wallace is sick. He would've been perfect to add onto last year's team, minus the trade + re-signing a sharp shooter in Damon Jones.

But seriously, one thing this team lacks is a straight up three point shooter. Somebody who you can rely on to sit back there and hit shots every night; a Damon Jones type. I wonder how Kapono would play with the starters if we increase his minutes in the playoffs? I actually like Kapono a lot for someone who doesn't get enough opportunities down here. I'd like to see an increase in his PT in the final four games. Hopefully we can get a win tomorrow so we can play Dorell Wright, Earl Barron, & Wayne Simien in the final three games. I want to see 20-25+ minutes for Dorell. I still think that kid can be amazing. Dead serious - I think that kid can be a hell of a scorer.
