The Morning After...It Doesnt Hurt Anymore

They won't tank! We probably lose to KC and beat Oakland, after the bye week who knows!?!? Problem I see as the more weeks go by that our deep game blows the more defenses are going to load up.

Indeed. I realize that the pass protection was bad in the first half yesterday and that probably was a big reason we didn't take more shots, but this whole notion that we take only 1-2 deep shots per game is absurd. Tannehill actually delivered 1/2 catchable deep balls yesterday. Hartline dropped it. That sucks, but what if we had taken four shots? Five? We would have connected on at least one of those. Part of the reason the drops and underthrows are so glaring and devastating is that we don't have more chances.

Did you watch the Bears game last night? They just kept bombing it and eventually it worked.

I think this is still a 10-11 win team. I didn't think they were going to go 16-0 and I figured they'd probably go in and get curbstomped by the Bills yesterday. We still have a chance to be 3-1 at the quarter point, and both of our upcoming games are better matchups for us -- especially with Jamaal Charles gimpy and possibly out for week 3.

Keep in mind, there is potential for better play in this team. Whether you are completely out on the QB or not, he WILL get better with experience in the offensive system. It might take 8 weeks like it did for Carson Palmer last season (when he was a completely different player in the back half of the season), or it might happen after the bye, or it might happen in December. But he's not suddenly going to get worse from being coached by a guy who isn't Mike Sherman's son-in-law and getting more reps in the system.

Mike Pouncey is going to come back. Billy Turner might get a shot at right guard. Bill Lazor might realize that Charles Clay is best used downfield and not 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Koa Misi should get healthy again (Jason Trusnick is BAD).

IMO to give up at 1-1 after a road loss to an emotional team built to beat you is throwing in the towel way too soon.

Agreed. I don't think 9 or 10 wins is unrealistic. Entering the season, I thought that 2-2 (1-1 in divsion) headed into the bye would be ideal. Its possible Miami could be 3-1.

Due to Geography and a migraine, I did not follow the game. Once I learned that Moreno went down, I knew that was it for the day. Anyone who did not realize that a lack of LB's would hurt special teams is a fool.

As for Tannehill, Am I the only one who picked up on that If Arians gave Eli a half a season Mulligan then so should Ryan?

Last but not least, its obvious that Buffalo has sold their collective soul to beat Miami. :err: Or, maybe it is just a mental block like a few yrs ago when Miami went 0-8 v the jest. :ponder:

We need to take more shots until they lock Wallace up! Of course Hartline dropped it that's what he does! He was tripping over his feet and dropped it. Just like his other drop on the deep in route, his heels and toe clipped and his jump was awkward. That said Eve on the deep play to Hartline look at Tannehill throwing shoulder up high, hold the ball a second to long. Why? Because he is aiming it. It is becoming mental with him.

PS... Yes watched the Bears good thing we got rid of Marshall because he might offend a rookie qb? Or rubbed our rookie HC wrong!

It just doesnt bother me anymore when this team loses. Its been the same lackluster performance under the Philbin era for years now and I think we finally figured out with the Bills game, Tannehill is NOT the answer to our prayers. Its the sad truth to this team, I see 7-9, 8-8 at best with this team. Though I will no longer get upset over them losing because its almost just expected with Tannehill and Philbin at the helm.

If the Fins fall flat again this year it iwll be interesting to see what happens this off season. I personally like Hickey and want him to stay, but how will things go down, no one knows.

Lets hope they get their crap together these upcoming weeks,.

I feel much the same way. It's clear that we have good, talented players but imho Philbin is just not up for the job. He has the knowledge, he knows football, but he has no feel for people or for the game. His cluelessness last yr with the Richie mess has imho continued this year. You hear it from the players that he's cold and robotic. He just doesn't connect with them. That's a problem. On top of that he's not showing that he's willing to take risks and plays it very close to the vest. I point to the end of the 1st half that he's widely being criticized for today. I'm sure he's a nice guy but nice guys finish last. I don't believe he's back next year unless he has a motivational talent he hasn't revealed yet. This is a defining week for Joe Philbin.

Hope you are being sarcastic! The guy is a dominant football player. Dumb move to trade him.

Will one of you please tell me exactly what we got in the Marshall trade?

My two issues...
1. A hungry, desperate and well coached KC team coming to Sun Life.
2. A QB that is NOT improving.

I cannot get over those things right now.

Be willing to accept the hungry KC team coming to town if number 2 wasn't an issue. Together along with the injuries- were in a tough spot. Lets see how the team responds Sunday.

There are only 6 undefeated teams currently in the NFL. Six. Boo-hoo, were not one of them. We looked better against NE then we did at any point last year. And sadly, we probably looked better this week against the Bills then we did last year against them.

Moreno being out seriously hurts. But if he can get back in 4, not 8 weeks, the season is still young, and we will be fine.

hell, it didn't even hurt me right after the game, because this is what this team does for you, you know better than to get your hopes too high.

One game does not a season make...that was true the 1st week and still is true after the second. Tannehill looks like crap now in the new system, but we'll just have to see how it plays out. By midseason if he is not improving we will know where we stand on him. There were too many issues for this team to go to Buffalo and do well. The home games are the really important ones....I want to see the same effort in the KC game as the NE game and then we'll be 2-1. The Morino injury can be a real letdown for this team IF no one else steps up in his abscence. He really set the physical tone in the NE game for the offense, and if you watch Denver these days they miss him too.

I actually got dragged to my in-laws yesterday and wasn't able to watch the game. My phone battery even died so I didn't even get to check for updates!
I was so bummed. Then I saw the score later and was so glad I didn't have to live through watching that.

Unreal how buffalo has Miami's number! Three in a row....ouch!

Can't get upset and dwell on a loss.
Also not time to give up just yet, either.
