for knee injury week, here's this useless thread:

i'll say a tie between Willis McGahee and Napolean McCallum

Anyone who watched the Monday Night Football season opener on Sept. 5, 1994 between the Los Angeles Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park remembers. 49ers linebacker Ken Norton Jr. tackled McCallum and in the pileup McCallum dislocated his knee, tearing three ligaments, ripping his calf and hamstring muscles from the bone, and incurring nerve and artery damage.

In surgery, doctors were concerned that if the operation did not go well, his leg could have to be amputated. In the end, McCallum endured six surgeries, including two knee reconstructions.

mcgahee's wasn't nearly as bad as mccallam's. mcgahee is in the NFL and he's a great back. mccallam still has trouble walking. and mccallam had like a 90 degree angle on his knee, which......isn't good

yes... that was the longterm result... but as far as what was witnessed, it looked to be the most gruesome to me... i sometimes have to look away when they show replays... i almost get a gross feeling in my own knee just watching...

harrison's was pretty nasty but mccoulum was the worst i have ever seen it was something that i will never forget uhh, thiesmans leg has to be the most painful to look at, it looked like a twigg snapped

The Napolean McCallum injury was the worst I've ever seen. I could'nt watch the replays. Ever since that one I've never been able to watch any injury replay.

Worst injury knee or no was the Theisman one wow that one was just gruesome.

Anyone got a clip of it. I don't remember seeing it.

Couldn't find video of it but here a pic:

Ouch!

The one that Roundtree suffered last year on the kick return was pretty gruesome too, though.
