But dude, he's healthy, it looked bad but it was NOTHING. He should be out there pitching. Schilling's out there, Beckett's out there, why isn't Papelbum? I mean look at how many games Timlin has blown since he's taken over. Whether he's come in for a save or in a tie he's made Red Sox fans life miserable these past 2 months and Papelbum should have been out there getting the outs the Red Sox needed in a lot of spots!

Sorry but I'm glad he isn't pitching right now. I personally wish Schilling wouldn't pitch again either.

Anyway I personally think Hansen should have been closing the games instead of Timlin just to see if he could handle it. If he sucked than the Sox know they need a closer next year.

Mike, like I said before things would be boring without you on this board.

Well someone has to teach all of you young-in's about SPORTS. I gotta make up and do the work all of your fathers should have done for you!

.

Be careful what you wish for. If Boston unloads Manny and goes into full rebuilding mode, Schill might retire and you won't have him for next year.

That was mid-august. They still had a chance for the Wild Card then. You cant roll over and play dead in Mid-August.

That is weak. I expect better from Sox Fans. Seriously, you guys are better than that. You guys threw up the white flag faster than FRANCE ever did.

I know they weren't techically eliminated from the playoffs but watching the team you just knew they had nothing left. I'm a fighting until the end but the end was in August they had nothing. Even before the Yankee series they were playing bad. They had been since the All Star break.

Hell I admit I thought they had somewhat of a chance for the WC in late August when they took 2 out of 3 from the ChiSox but then they lost 2 out of 3 to KC.

Hey growing up I had a choice of which teams I wanted to root for. I'm happy with my picks even though they always seem to let me down.

Dude this is why I don't understand why he wants to come and be a starter. He was dominant in the closers role this year, I'm not scared to admit it. If Papelbum was decent in the role I can understand him hurrying to get back in the rotation but he was dominant except for a few outings this season and gave Boston chance after chance in a bunch of tie games this season (he gave their bats a chance to win it I can't even count how many times). There's going to be starters on the market next year but there's not going to be many dominant closers (if any). I think Boston is losing a big insurance policy by moving him into the rotation. Whether he can do it or not doesn't matter to me, I think he's more important in the closers role then in the starters role, plus if he struggles in the rotation early in the season, the Boston media is going to be on his back about insisting on making the switch back to being a starter!

It's the truth though bro. All the other Red Sox fans in here come with the tough talk but when the ship starts to sink they jump off. I mean in the beginning of the year Red Sox nation was in full force on finheaven, now we're down to you and 2 other Red Sox fans, 1 of which still doesn't know if likes the Mets or the Red Sox!

All I ask for is respect. Whether you like me or not. I know things do get very heated in here and sometimes you say things you regret but I don't hold any bad blood to anyone.

This stuff, talking sports is fun for me. I'm glad we don't share the same opinions because this board would be boring.

:lolcry: :yeahthat: The only RED SOX fan in America who roots for the Mets.:sidelol: I really don't get that one. How can any self respecting RED SOX fan root for the Mets after 1986????!! I mean come on!!

It's like clock-work around here each year......................

April-May----Sox fans all over Finheaven celebrating their winning,.... well nothing yet but the big win is on the horizon. It's their year!!

June--Chinks in the armor start to show, but still in 1st place and, well YANKES SUCK. 2004!

Post All Star Break---Yankees making a move, Red Sox taking on a little water but still, claim they got an easy 2nd half schedule compared to NY.

Late July--Things are starting to fall apart for the Sox. Yanke make a trading deadline move, then all of the "SALARY CAP IS NEEDED"...."BUYING A CHAMPIONSHIP" talks heat up for a week or two until Sox fans actually look at their own payroll compared to the rest of MLB.

Mid-August--Yanks pass Boston at some point and Red Sox fans just bring up 2004 at all times.

Early September--Yanks put room between themselves and Boston, start pulling away.

Late September/Early October--Either out of the playoffs totally or in the playoffs as a wild card but realize they have no shot of winning another World Series. And oh yeah, EXCEPT FOR FINKLE..........Red Sox fans NOWHERE TO BE FOUND ON FINEHAVEN!

It's a tough situation and I don't think I'm going to be comfortable with the decision until he does well (that's assuming he becomes a starter).

The only arguement for him to be a starter is that a good starter is harder to come by than a closer.

Either way I'm not confident in any of the FA starters or relievers being able to pitch in Boston. Personally I'm not comfortable with the team in 2007 right now, they need to rework and retool a lot of things.

That post is a classic and 100 percent true brother hahahah I love it!

The Yankees, 9 straight AL East Championships.

The Red Sox 9 Straight AL East Championships......in May!

I really don't hate the Mets for 1986, or hold bad blood. Yeah they beat us and embarassed us, take a number which team didn't in the 86 years?

I blame the Sox team more than the Mets. The team made a lot of bad moves, pitches etc and the Mets took advantage. I would root for the Mets this year only to see Pedro win another ring because I love the guy. But of course I want to see Nomar win one for real first.

Does any one else realize the Yankees have been to the playoffs 12 straight years? Have won 10 of the last 12 AL East titles including 9 in a row? Have won 4 World Series in that stretch and been to 6? I'm just soaking it all in right now. Unbelievable. Who would have thought that we'd get to live through a time like our parents grew up where evey year you looked at the playoffs, the Yankees had a chance and in most cases were favorites?

I think this is the Mets year. If the Mets don't make it I would be more shocked then if the Yankees didn't. The way it looks now, the Mets should have a walk in the park to the World Series. Of course I'm hoping they crash and burn and get eliminated in the first round!

Like it or not you do have to give the team credit. They were very fortunate to have some of the players they had i.e. Jeter, Bernie, Rivera, etc.
