The Official 2006 New York Yankees Thread!

CJ Henry, Jose Tabata, Austin Jackson, Eric Duncan, Phillip Hughes, and Eduardo Nunez just to name a couple.

Jackson and tabata could be big-time bats for us in a few years in the outfield positions. Unless Duncan can learn to play 1B he has no value for us at the Major League level with A-Rod at 3B. He is the one guy we can move and maybe bring back something of value this July.

Duncan is playing 1st in the minors. And I agree he's probably going to be traded in July.

Let's see if any of those chips get traded for an outfielder or pitcher then. You do realize that since all of the players you mentioned are in A ball right now (expect Hughes and Duncan) it makes their value a little less (not to say that they're not studs or won't be but since they haven't proven anything in high minors yet it makes GMs a little cautious as to trading for them) and therefore probably wouldn't be enough to get that big bat or pitcher alone without a big prospect or MLB player going in the deal. Last time I checked an A ball player (Ian Bladergeon) was good enough to get Doug Mientkiewitcz.

Also since Henry and Jackson were drafted last year and thus can't be traded until a certain date (which I honestly don't know).

Great article, did you even read it? It proves nothing (much like your point) except Kevin Thompson doesn't like it when people say they don't have any good players there. In fact in the article the Yankees farm system was ranked 24th.

By the way I did some research on some of the players the author mentions:
Mitch Jones was a 27 year old in Double A last year. Yeah he hit a ton of homers (27) but stuck out 174 times and batted .268.
Shelley Duncan (26 years old) in Double A hit 34 homers but batted .240 with 140 K's.
Even Eric Duncan (a top 100 prospect) in Double A had a rough year batting .235 with 136 K's and 19 homers.

If this was the cream of the crop in the Yankees farm system last year it just proves why the Yankees farm was ranked 24th.

That is my point!!!!!! The same people who rank it didn't even know anything about Wang and Cano!!!!!!!!!! :shakeno:

Rankings are pointless!!!!!!!!!

Finkle, why do you sweat the Yankees so much? No Yankees fan is in the Red Sox thread even a quarter as much as your in here. Your probably in here as much as your in there. Are you a Red Sox fan or a Yankees hater? Dude, worry about your own teams farm system and stop breaking sweats trying to do whatever you can to talk the Yankees organization down. For someone who hates the Yankees as much as you do, you spend a bulk of your life watching their games and worrying about what's going on with them. Worry about the Red Sox and you will be fine. You'll probably live longer to because you won't be so worried scoreboard watching, worrying about the Yankees like their the only team the Red Sox play!

Sorry I didn't get the memo about no being aloud to watch or post about other teams in baseball. I also post in the Blue Jays, Mets and Marlins threads, as well as other threads about baseball because I'm a fan. So should I stop? Who cares where I go and what I post, if you have a problem with my opinions just ignore them. It's that simple, if you disagree then say it and back up your post you don't have to call me out and try to run me down because it makes you look bad.

I could care less if there were Yankee fans in the Red Sox thread, hell I even encourage it. It's nice to get different opinions. NYJUNC posts in there a lot with both negative and positive things about the Sox and do you see any Sox fan jumping on him for his opinions? Do you ever see any Red Sox fans telling him to stick to his thread?

Who says I hate the Yankees? Did I ever say that? As for scoreboard watching dude the Yankees and Red Sox are playing each other right now what do you want me to do? And I'd find in VERY hard to believe that being a big Yankee fan as you are you don't look at the Red Sox scoreboard when they're playing another team because if you say you don't you're lying. Hell I look at EVERY AL East teams scoreboard at night, what's wrong with that? It's not like im a Pitts Pirate fan who just flat out hates the Yankees and sees if they lost.

As for living longer not worrying about the Yankees, dude there are more important things in life than baseball.

Oh please. You are the ONLY red sox fan who doesn't hate the Yankees?

You listen to WFAN all the time now and are always quoting Mike and the Mad Dog in posts all the time. You post as much about the Yanks as you do about the Sox. You claim to know our farm system better than most Yankee fans. You kill the announcers on the YES network all the time (meaning you watch them).

Dude, you obsess about the Yanks. Admit it.

No I don't hate the Yankees. I respect them, but I don't hate them.

I listen to WFAN because I live in CT and don't get WEEI (and I have been listening to the FAN for well over 8 years so get your facts right). Geez what suggestion do you have to that? :shakeno:

Everyone kills the YES announcers, what's the big deal? I guess you missed my post when I said that the announcers are entertaining though. Since I live in CT I get YES, I'm a baseball fan so if a game is on I watch it. Plus again since I live in CT, I don't get NESN, and sometimes I don't get Red Sox games (I have the baseball extra innings package and sometimes they're blacked out) so I watch the Yankees instead. Again what's the big deal?

I'm sorry I apologize I know it's a crime to watch other baseball games and speak about other teams, especially the biggest rival of my favorite team. It's nice to know that you guys really care what I do or what or where I post. I makes me feel special. :D

Sheff should be back tonight so that's a major plus. Hopefully Torre doesn't sit Posada so we can start to see our line-up at full strength (minus Matsui)!
