Did he say what the setback was??

Sore tricep muscle. Along with the fact that he's coming off Tommy John, had tendenitis last month, and now this, I'm not omptimisitic he will contribute in key situations this year. He may pitch in the majors this season but I just can't see how the Yankees are going to justify throwing him in a big situation when they don't really know what their going to get from him and how long he will last before something else flares up!

I read in the NY post that he said he would welcome a trade back to the Yanks if the Phils do trade him. Settle down bro, his words not mine. Do you really think that he wanted to go to a team that was going to trade him during his first season??? He had a good thing going in NY and left for the money and now finds himself not knowing where he will be playing in a few weeks.

He wanted to get paid!! Philly paid him more. He didn't care WHO paid him. He was going to the highest bidder.

If they trade him he still gets paid his current contract. He would welcome a trade to anyone!!! It isn't about him being unhappy in Phillly (which you are hinting at)

I would think that any player that signs a contract would like to stay with that team for more than half a season. It isn't just about money, they have families to think about (relocating a wife and kids is never easy). He thought he was going to a winning situation and a place where he could be the closer, and yes he wanted more than the Yanks were offering. But don't think for one second that he isn't a little uneasy not knowing where he will be in a week or two. Security to a player, in any sport, means just as much as $$$$. Unless of course he is a selfish player, and I never got that impression from Gordon. He just didn't want to accept what the Yanks were offering so he moved on, and now he waits and wonders.

Let's not get too overheated bro, difference of opinion that's all.

Suck that we lost our third in a row and we're struggling up North but it really sucks that A-Rod can't celebrate being the youngest player to 450 homeruns cause of all the hating he's catching in NY. I don't know if Yankee fans will ever appreciate A-Rod! Anyways, congrat to A-Rod, Yankees fans need to chill on him and let him do his thing!

the thing about A-Rod's struggles is that it's costing the Yankees games. Whether it's not coming through in the late innings or error after error.

It's only natural for a player to struggle when more pressure is put on them. The thing with the NY media (the media influences 95% of the fans opinions), the thing is they are partially to blame for his struggles. They write some stupid article and continue to propagate the idea that he isn't worth what he is making and the fans read it and boo him because he isn't hitting 4 homeruns every night. It's a shame that it happens that way, but that is the NY media and fans for you. Very impatient and willing to run someone out of town at the drop of a hat.

Congrats to Arod and his accomplishment.

yeah, and he doesn't win games for them too:shakeno:

I guess those 48 home runs and 130 RBI's last year meant nothing? His errors aren't helping, but he has yet to cost them games. Please.

Mets fans did this last year with Beltran. He sucked, this year they got off his case and look at what he is doing now!

NO, he didn't think he was going to a winning situation. Gordon is an older player and wanted one last big pay day. Your wrong!!

Gordon would have gone to KC if they offered him the most money. Your just 100% dead wrong on this issue. He doesn't care if Philly trades him. All Star weekend he was asked about the rumors to the Mets, White Sox, and Yanks and he said he didn't care he wouldn't mind playing for either.

He just wants the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. He got it from Philly. They can trade him wherever now, he doesn't care. He has the payday in the bank

who the hell is talking about last year? :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:

I'm talking about this year :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:

he's struggled this year at times, at key times, and that's a fact.

but it isn't costing them games. Last night they loset 7-3 (arod had the 3 rbi's mind you) his error didn't cost them the game though. It isn't helping, but they were down 4-0 off the bat.

If you actually look deep into the games (something you clearly don't do just by reading what you type) you would see most of his errors take place when the team is already down and probably in no position to win. Sure, the errors don't help. But when your down say 6-1 in the 7th inning, that error isn't the reason you lost the game.
