Think come September when the Yanks play that big series in the Bronx vs Boston they could throw out a lineup of...

CF-Damon
SS-Jeter
1B-Giambi
3B-Arod
RF-Abreu
DH-Sheff
LF-Matsui
C-Posada
2B-Cano

i know with how good of a hitter Giambi is, but ive always wondered why they never hit Jeter 3rd. hes probably the best hitter on the team. With Abreu's speed, something like this would look good to me..

CF-Damon
RF-Abreu
SS-Jeter
1B-Giambi
3B-Arod
DH-Sheff
LF-Matsui
C-Posada
2B-Cano

thats just me though

Yup.. with Jared Wright on the mound, and TJ Beam coming out of the bullpen.

The Yankee lineup has never been the problem..

I'll take Wright over Beckett most nights this past summer

Jeter last year had better LEADOFF numbers than Damon. You can make a case Johnny should be hitting 2nd and Jeter should be hitting first. I wouldn't hit him 3rd though

On most nights when the Red Sox are on the road, and I'd agree.

But at least the Red Sox are trying to address their problems with talks of Scott Linebrink, instead of adding another bat which won't help them.

No way man. I admit when Beckett loses a game, he gets crushed but outside of 4 out of the 5 games he's lost and the one game he won vs. ChiSox. He has pitched pretty well (not counting his HR he gives up).

Ok I will take that matchup anyday.. Beckett only has more wins, same era, better whip, and is a bout .50 points lower in BAA.. Red Sox fans would be happy with this matchup any night..

With Abreu not in the starting line up for the Phillies it certainly makes sense.

Thanks to Bobby for some nice years in Philly. He should help the Yanks...he leads the NL in walks, and has a great OBP, can get still get a homer now and then, decent but not great oufielder. Phils got two nice prospects including a guy who can relieve Rollins at SS, or be a SS for the future.
