That Hanley Rameriez for Beckett trade isn't looking so hot these days. We are a few weeks away from that being on the Kazimer for Zambrano level maybe of all time blunders.

What's the over/under on days until Beckett announces he has a blister?

Oh please don't embarass yourself with comments like that. Beckett hasn't been good this year but he's 100 times better than Zambrino on his best day. The trade isn't anything like the Kazmir/Zambrino trade anyway, it's not even close. Plus you can't judge a trade over 1 years time anyway. If you weren't such a Red Sox hater who is blinded and biased by anything having to do with the Red Sox or the city of Boston you'd realize just how stupid that comment sounds.

Beckett is a gamer, he's not going to make excuses as to why he isn't pitching well. He's not Kevin Brown or Alex Rodriguez.

maybe, but I don't see Beckett having much success in the AL though. And Hanley might be an all star SS for years to come. It could turn out to be a BAD trade. Hanley will be dueling with Reyes each year for the starting SS spot in the NL. An everyday SS like that is tough to part with and when you do you want a sure thing in return. Im not sure Boston got that.

It's possible it could turn out to be a bad trade, but any trade could. Beckett could get hurt in his next start and never play again, ditto for Hanley. I've seen a lot of Hanley even before this year. He is a very special player however when you have a chance to get a 26 year old pitcher with the big game tag you have to part with a SS with potential (also remember Hanley had 2 disappointing years in the minors in a row after he was rated a top prospect and his work ethic stopped because he fell in love with what was written about him in the papers). However I didn't like the idea of parting with Hanley for anyone before he was rumored in the Beckett deal. It was a no-brainer in my opinion. A must move to be made. Granted Beckett has been bad this year but the team without him would probably be in 3rd place.

I think Beckett will be fine in the AL, he has the guts and ability to pitch. He just had a rude awakening this year. Remember he's still a baby, only 26 years old. Once he learns how to pitch he could be an elite pitcher for years to come. Sometimes it takes pitchers some maturing and a few years to finally reach their potential. With some work and getting his secondary pitches down who knows.

I think it's too early to tell with Beckett, you have to give him another year at least before the trade could be labeled good or bad. Plus who knows about Hanley too.

we might lose this game but I will say this..........Procter is f'n nails! That kid has really turned into a good pitcher.

Palbeons 8th and Marino's 9th is an exhibition in relief pitching!!!!!!! WOW!

Palbeons 9th, thats another story.

Jeter with another big hit this series.

Mariano Rivera just showed why he's the best!

Who would be stupid enough to even question it?

I knew as soon as he got Ortiz out at 3rd the inning was over. Him facing Hinske and Mirabelli? Please it's a cake walk for him because he's that good.

You do have to give Papelbon credit though, even if he blew the save. That 8th inning took a lot out of him, and he shouldn't have even had to be in that spot to begin with.

I really think the Mirabelli passed ball is the turning point of the game.

Giambino!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was hitting bombs all night missed a grand slam by mere inches earlier. Could easily have 3 home runs and 8 rbi's tonight.

Turning point of the game? Try turning point of the SEASON!!

His 8th inning was impressive. His 9th wasn't at all. Ya can't give up a lead off double to the #8 hitter if your a closer coming in with a lead. And his Bernie at bat wasn't great at all he got away with ahuge break on the Bernie check swing. That at bat didn't look like it was goign his way at all.
