The Official 2006 New York Yankees Thread!

how long before WHEETIES BOX and RI boy both show up. They haven't shown there faces in a baseball thread for about a month now.

This loss will get everyone to come out of hiding!! lol lol lol lol. That's ok, we can take it. Were big boys!!

and DOB is on a final warning here after I made the phone call to the head honcho at the site earlier in the week. He's gotta watch his words around here or else he's gone! lol lol lol

It's a tough place to be right now but the Yankees are capable of winning 2 in a row. Our backs are against the wall right now and it's gut check time for a lot of guys on the team!

Wright is pitching for a ton of money tomorrow. If he stinks, NY is buying out his contract and he is on the open market with NO VALUE!! If he wins, NY will keep him around. Not to mention he might bump Randy and be the #3 starter come the ALCS (if they make it that far)

NY has been down 0-2 before in best of 5's and won. Granted not this bunch, but......hey, I don't see this team rolling over and playing dead tomorrow. Like they did last year vs LAA.

I think the Yankee bats should overwhelm Rogers. Verlander is a one of a kind pitcher, the fact he pitched well vs NY shows his greatness at only 23 years old.

no confidence in Rogers to do anything.
good call

If the Yankees bats come out and play dead against Jeremy Bonderman tomorrow, they don't deserve to win. Not taking anything away from Bonderman, he's coming into his own but if this Yankees line-up doesn't show some pride and knock the crap out of him tomorrow after the way they looked the last 2 days then they don't deserve to win and deserve the criticisim they get if they don't win this series!

I know everyone will jump on Randy and some of it is deserved. But, this guy took a shot in the back, has discs out of place, and toughed it out.

And when you score ZERO runs, i mean.....look Randy wasn't great. He hasn't been great since NY signed him. But Im not ready to jump on the guy because of tonight. He doesn't deserve the AROD TREATMENT. At least in my opinion.

Tomorrow I want to see Damon do something. I want Sheff out there pissed because he is playing for a ton of money. And of course it would be nice to see AROD get a hit (although Im not holding my breath)

I thought they already won the first 2? Isnt tomorrow game 5?

So who are you guys going to overpay this offseason? :jk:

One problem with the Yanks is its just to business like, where is the fun? Where is the enthusiasm? I think those are two essential things the Yanks lack

and by the way, since I know tomorrow IF Detroit wins and knocks us out, everyone is going to want me to be here like as the final out is being called.

Im going to a college football game at noon, then out afterwards. So, I probably won't be online Saturday night after the game. That doesn't mean I am running or hiding.......I just have a life and its a SATURDAY NIGHT!!! (means I am probably getting laid)

So, everyone stay calm. I will be around really late Saturday night or early Sunday. I don't want the MIKEO is running or affraid to post nonsense.

It's a saturday night and I have plans!!! I will be around don't worry.

Mike Greenberg said something that I thoguht was pretty accurate. He said the Yankees have so much pressure that when they win it all, it doesn't become a celebration, it becomes a sigh of relief.

Well, look. The pressure is always there. In the 1980's when the Yanks sucked they were still spending more money than every other team. The pressure was there. The pressure of playing in NYC alone is always going to be there.

Some parts of the media now feel if you go 5 or 6 years without a championship its a failure. Some franchises go 30, 40, or 86 years without a ring. Going 6 without one while sure it isn't great, is far from being a failure. I don't care what the payroll is!!

And I don't buy the sigh of relief thing. This team was down the past 2 years in July/August to Boston in the AL East and both years came on like a mack truck. They didn't let any pressure stop them then. Problem is in these short series one bad night at the plate, one bad pitching performance and next thin ya know your done. SHort series man, they can get anyone!
