The Official 2006 New York Yankees Thread!

There a 4 Yankees who are paid more money than A Rod makes from the Yanks...... Remeber, Texas still pays a good portion of his contract......

There is no way he is going to leave NY.. You think he wants to leave and the Yanks win it next year..... Big ego, isn't going to be run out of town

Just shows that $$$$$ doesn't buy you a World Series ring.

Wait, what trade bait? I dont think that ANYBODY outside of Boston....and maybe BOSTON can afford AROD. Only 12 million a year:goof:

If you are trading your "Set" fielders than you no longer have set Fielders. I dont think you have much in the minors to trade cause that has already been cashed in.

I see Major changes for your franchise, and I bet A-Rod isnt part of it...

Ok here we go with the "no minor leaguers again".....I guess Wang, Cano, Melky, Phillips Procter,...etc didn't come through the farm system! :shakeno: :shakeno: Dude, this debate is over. The Yanks farm system has talent. If other teams are too stupid to take these gems, that's their fault!! A farm system that produced a guy who will finish between 2-4th in the Cy Young and a hitter who came in 3rd in the AL in the batting title race! Please......enough with the no farm system!!

And the everyday lineup is set.......You need 4 outfielders (Matsui, Damon, Abreu, Melky) who ya gonna remove?? :shakeno: :shakeno: Jeter at SS, Cano at 2B, Giambi at 1B ....who ya gonna move??:shakeno: :shakeno: Posada at Catcher and lets assume Arod at 3b....WHO YA GONNA MOVE!!:shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: The every day position

players are signed and set!!!!!!!!!!!

And nobody can afford AROD?? Cubs, Dodgers, Orioles, LAA, even SF (if they let go of Bonds).........all of these teams have the money to pay AROD!! Especially with Tex paying a chunk already and NY probably taking on a little bit of the contract!!

Wonder what the Yankees would want? Angels have a lot of prospects, including some arms they'd probably part with.

Ervin Santana would have to be part of any deal.

The LA newspaper a couple weeks ago had it at Sanatan, Figgins, an Shields. That would be perfect for NY. A 3B, a starter, and a reliever all of whom are solid players.

But that is the type of deal Ny would be looking for.

I'd take Alex,Shields would be too much in that trade. Also Chone (who I like ) didn't have a real good year at leadoff(avg.267).

he wouldn't bat leadoff in NY. Probably 9th.

Who else do the yankees have in the farm system? im not really familiar with farm systems outside of marlins and redsox

Yankees will make a BIG push for that Japanese pitcher, I forget his name starts with a M, he's 22 or 24. All the experts say he'll be a Yankee. It'll cost any team over 100 million for him but his numbers in Japan are very impressive.

If a player other than Shields was involved I'd do it. I figured Santana would be a major piece though and it sounds like LAA is willing to part with him for the right hitter. Not saying anything with Arod would happen though, sounds like he wants to stay in NY though I guess anything could happen
