The OFFICIAL "Start Matt Moore next game" Thread

then why are you clamouring for a guy the whole league sees as a damn backup including himself and his damn agent.
Im not saying Tannehill is all that but nobody in the league wants this jounrneyman to start except for a few posters on here that want to live only in his half season in atotally different offense

At least Tannehill has been able to hold onto his job unlike Matt Moore who Carolina was trying to replace him every damn year

hes held onto the job for one reason, and one reason only. HE WAS A FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK, 8TH OVERALL.

PHILBIN IS TIED TO THIS DUDE, HE WILL SINK OR SWIM WITH HIM.

I AM SURE U WOULD HAVE BEEN SAYING THE SAME THING BACK IN 2011 BEFORE HENNE WAS REPLACED FOR MOORE, YET WE ALL KNOW WHO WAS THE BETTER QB ALL ALONG.

ur right, both r nothing special, but moore would at least utilize wallaces strengths. tannehill can not.

funny thing about going on IR, you always get replaced

Shell game with numbers. He's had 21 total starts and a myriad of bumbling coaches stubbornly toying with Henne, Clausen, and Tannehill ahead of him. All three of those choices have shown to not pay dividends.

And adjusting we will go, adjusting we will go,....

He had 13 chances in that magical 2011 season and didn't get it done, I'm not holding out much hope

They didn't play 13 winning teams in 2011. The three teams were the Giants, Cowboys, and Patriots.

The Cowboys (20-19) and Patriots (27-24) were close, competitively fought winnable games that we weren't able to close out. In the Cowboy game the defense missed a billion game-sealing sacks on Romo's game-winning drive. Vs. the Pats we were up 17-0 at half and then both sides of the ball went flat in the 2nd.

The Giants were the Super Bowl champs whom we again lost a close game to 20-17. So, let's do the math here:

The Dolphins were outscored by a mere 10pts in games vs. winning teams.
The Dolphins outscored everyone else 216 to 168 (+48)

I agree, that if we had won 2 out of those 3 games Moore could have easily silenced people. But it stands to mention that we were in those games and our offense in the last 10 years or so never clicked better. He beat winning teams when he started with Carolina, so there's no reason to presume he could never do it again.

I don't need to adjust anything. The guys starting ahead of him (Henne, Clausen, Tannehill) have accomplished ZERO.

What did he do in the Buffalo game and if Moore is so good why is no team trying to have him as their starter, is the whole NFL just stupid.
Moore makes no team a two team race that's a joke
it took him exactly one play in the Buffalo game to do something Ryan has yet to do. Hit a 54 yard bomb right over Hartlinez shoulder. If hartline was faster it was a 99 yd TD.

Team MVP on a 6-10 team ain't nothing to brag about...
How can you discount that?

the giants were not superbowl defending champs when we had played them, they won it that season, just correcting that, but everything else u bring is up spot on.

also, the game vs dallas, when moore left the field for the final time, we had a lead, we lost on a last second fg.

vs the pats, he was awesome 1st half, stunk 2nd half.

and vs the giants, we got off to a quick 14-0 lead and didnt do much rest of the game.

either way, as u point out, while being competitve does nothing in the nfl, its all wins or losses, moore showed he can be a decent qb. no one is saying he is canton bound, but is it really hard to be better than ryan ****ing tannehill?

also, when moore was on the fins, the fins would beat up the awful teams, something that with tannehill we fail to do time and time again.

so moore plays 3 winning teams as a fin and we dont lose by more than 4 pts i believe in either game, and couple that with completely dominating all the terrible teams, something tannehill fails to do, and moore is nothing more than a journeyman qb according to these ppl, yet tannehill in 35 games, where he has started consistently, never thrown into the mix out of nowhere, had off seasons each year to work with the players and learn the playbooks, and he still sucks, yet lets give him an entire season, because he was drafted 8th overall, so he must have potential.

truth is, i am scared tannehill can play decent tomm, because than philbin would never make the move, due to having false hope.

It shows you he was one of the bright spots. How often does that happen where a backup QB written off like he was comes in and offense perks up to the point where he's elected team MVP?

Moore had a decent season in 2011 with an 87 passer rating. Especially decent considering he did it on a team that had already quit at that point, and a team that wasn't very talented. I believe his rating this preseason was 100+ while Tannehill's was right around 80. This is an extremely difficult spot for Philbin one way or the other but if Moore ends up starting I wouldn't write the season off at that point (unless its already written off).
