The OFFICIAL "Start Matt Moore next game" Thread

it took him exactly one play in the Buffalo game to do something Ryan has yet to do. Hit a 54 yard bomb right over Hartlinez shoulder. If hartline was faster it was a 99 yd TD.
Remember what he did on the next play?

They didn't play 13 winning teams in 2011. The three teams were the Giants, Cowboys, and Patriots.

The Cowboys (20-19) and Patriots (27-24) were close, competitively fought winnable games that we weren't able to close out. In the Cowboy game the defense missed a billion game-sealing sacks on Romo's game-winning drive. Vs. the Pats we were up 17-0 at half and then both sides of the ball went flat in the 2nd.

The Giants were the Super Bowl champs whom we again lost a close game to 20-17. So, let's do the math here:

The Dolphins were outscored by a mere 10pts in games vs. winning teams.
The Dolphins outscored everyone else 216 to 168 (+48)

I agree, that if we had won 2 out of those 3 games Moore could have easily silenced people. But it stands to mention that we were in those games and our offense in the last 10 years or so never clicked better. He beat winning teams when he started with Carolina, so there's no reason to presume he could never do it again.

I don't need to adjust anything. The guys starting ahead of him (Henne, Clausen, Tannehill) have accomplished ZERO.

Matt Moore the stealth QB.... even his own coaches don't notice him.

Remind us again what Tanny did in that game considering he was the season long starter and actually prepped for the game as the starter.

Why do you always want to change the subject from Moore to Tannehill? Oh yeah...

If Philbin starts Moore, he's fired

no one would complain about that, but at the same time, its better that when u make a mistake to try and fix that mistake before its too late, rather than letting that mistake stay unfixed.

i dont care for philbin, i dont see anything really in him that would make me miss him if he were fired, but if he did switch to moore over tannehill and the fins were more succesfull, maybe he would get one more chance, whether we like it or not.

also, i feel tannehill, while deff connected to philbin because he was the head coach, i am not positive we take him if sherman is not hired.

the moore supporters have brought up reasons y they would like moore over tannehill.

now please tell us ur reasoning, based on there play, as to why tannehill is the better fit?

Considering the OL ranked 28-32 by 4 out of 5 analytic services, no blocking TE, the 26th ranked running game, a rookie kicker with the yips, a red zone receiving threat going down in TC and the 2012 most dependable 3rd and TD completion percentage receiver going down midseason, a dinosaur calling his plays and the kind of unnecessary distraction brought about by a wus who couldn't handle the the kind of non physical hazing that most 18 year old frat pledges would have welcomed by comparison, it's amazing that Tannehill over-achieved beating 4 playoff bound teams and keeping us in contention until the kind of Buffalo mugging and injury that Tom Brady himself, the week before against us, demonstrated that even he couldn't overcome. So that would be 5 winning teams that Tannehill beat since the beginning of last season now.. 4 of 'em with no Wallace chemistry, a 7th round receiver pick, a 5th round hybrid TE and a natural #3 Wideout who he made into a two season 1000yd producer. It's a shame that based on the above, we were in not going into Buffalo already having clinched a playoff berth!

And just for grins for those who love to nitpick away at certain QBs and purposely ignore the short-comings of ones blessed with elite support tools who've had 10 second qtrs to confirm there's a void between his ears and his legs on the biggest stage when the hour of midnight is almost upon him.

Bottom Line: if we're gonna replace a QB who screws up against weak teams but beats strong teams and QBs, we better get one with cajones, cuz after the build up expectation of NoodleArm vs the Ravens, even knowing the history of his losing 2 or more out of every 3 games vs Top 10 scoring D's, 3 out of 3 in 08) while I agree to a point that it's nice making the playoffs, I really don't want to end up with another version of a deceptive Blue Balls QB!

Obviously, this is a very polarizing topic depending on which side of the fence you stand on. The thing I simply cannot understand though, is how under Tannehill we have won nothing, but for the brief time we had Moore he has a winning record. I just don't even see what there is to debate.

How much more losing do we have to do under Tannehill before the rest of the board comes around to the idea of giving Moore a shot at starting just to see what happens? Why is that other teams seem to have no problem cycling through QBs until they hit on something, but Miami seems to have this one group of fans that will be content with whoever the team names the starter no matter how many years of losing they produce?

I think I can speak for anyone here who wants Moore as the starter when we say that he isn't destined to be the next Marino, but if the guy in there isn't working, wouldn't you want to try something else before the season is ruined?

I thought you were a Moore guy. What happened to all that "sea legs" talk"? :).

My thoughts exactly. This isn't a situation where our back up QB is Pat Devlin. The division is weakened and yet the season is already under the gun in terms of playoff possibilities and you have a guy who's proven he can win games. Why not make the switch during the BYE if we look flat again vs. the Raiders knowing that if you don't get things moving everyone is a goner anyways?

You got a good memory. And yes, that was mostly to refute our resident [strike]****roa[/strike] troll in his attacks on him and unfavorable comparison to a QB who loves butts so much he can't keep away from them even on the field. I admire and respect Moore; was there in person watching his encouragement and leadership galvanizing a dispirited team on the sidelines and think even though RT17 beat him out, he still should have started for that first year. So nowhere in defending Tannehill, the same way I defended Moore, will you ever see me dogging him. However I find it disturbing that when he resigned, he either was in no demand to compete for a starter's job or decided that even in his 20s, he'd rather take the money and run instead of having the confidence to win a job in head to head competition. But be that as it may, he's been a good mentor for Tannehill and great teammate.

I just think that Tannehill showed us more than enough up thru game 14 of last season to let him sink or swim in this new system because of my perception of his upside. If pulled, I believe he'll be done here and he's shown too much up until the mugging in Buffalo and injury to give up on him at this point when we're not a legitimate threat either way to go more than 1 game if that into the playoffs no matter who's QBing. I don't want to be an Atlanta fan or a 2008 Fins fan. Tannehill has shown he can beat good teams and QBs.

Good to hear that's what it was actually like at the games because that's what I thought I saw happening on television. It has been so long since I've seen that kind of thing from our QB position.
