The Patriots after DeSean Jackson how does that effect your Dolphins FA outlook.

Ginn actually changed defenses and won some games almost single-handedly. His problem was that he was overdrafted and overpaid for his production. Booker, lol.

We mostly hear this over and over with guys like Hartline and Bess. When Philbin and Ireland inked Hartline to that contract last year, I almost blew a gasket. The handwriting of mediocrity was on the wall, imo. Got crucified in VIP for my stance, too, btw. I tried to give Ireland the benefit of the doubt -- but it was so hard. With all the money spent last offseason and all those draft picks, Miami could have easily gone into the season with a decent OL, great 1-2 punch at RB (with Bush and Miller), and new WRs 1-4 (better ceiling, etc.). When you are mired in mediocrity and the best thing you can say about a WR is "consistency," that's all you'll have, if you keep relying on such players: Consistent mediocrity.

Team easily could have had 2-3 more playmakers, with all the money and draft picks Ireland blew.

Colossal fail. Not just meh. Colossal fail.

are you saying Hartline, or even the WR core is the reason we didn't make the playoffs last year?

It would indeed suck but no need for Hickey to panic and start overpaying. That could seriously make us have a setback. We actually have money for the next couple years and lets keep it that way. I think he is done a fine job in FA since most contenders build their team through the draft. The draft will be the key to see if Hickey will be a successful GM or not.

Are we seriously worried about a scenario that hasn't happened yet?

Grow some brains and then grow some balls

good luck waiting on that egg to hatch

He's 37 yrs old. At that age he could have a serious decline from one season to the next. I guess you just couldnt resist making a sarcastic remark. Honestly, some of you have such an inferiortiy complex, that its sad.

Patriots make a play for DeSean Jackson, meanwhile, Miami is full of fans talking about how great Hartline is, lol (etc.).

And people wonder why we're forever mired in mediocrity...

SMH.

What a foolish post. First of all, the Pats have inquired about Jackson (as have several other teams). They haven't made a deal for him.
Secondly, you just suggested that the Phins havent pursued premier players in recent history.
Joey Porter, Karlos Dansby, Brandon Marshall, Mike Wallace disprove your contention.

patriots always get WR's in FA and then there gone after a year or two. when will people learn.

but anyways, I would be happy if they had desean take up whats left of their 8 mil.

don't get 'butt hurt' sittin that watch, k bruh.. keep the salve handy - just sayin

I think we need to go about our business and forget what the Pats are doing. ... They don't care about us. Fix our team and the rest will work out.

Fix the team and the rest will work out? Well, we have been watching for the last five years and are still waiting for the process to begin. 7-9, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9, 8-8: five years of mind numbing mediocrity with no notable improvement. We need to be honest: this front office does not know how to "fix our team". How else can you explain draft picks like Pat White and Michael Egnew? How else can you explain buying Brandon Marshall for two second round picks just to sell him later for two third round picks? How else can you explain last year's draft where there wasn't a single offensive or defensive starter in the entire bunch? Including the number three pick in the entire draft. How else do you explain the losses to Tampa, Buffalo and the stinking Jets? How else do you explain the state of last season's offensive line and "Bullygate"? How else do you explain the receiving corp from two years ago? How else do you explain getting rid of Reggie Bush for a gum wrapper that Philbin retrieved from the field and threw away? How else do you explain being so sloppy in taking care of its relationships with state legislators that it can't get a deal done to upgrade the stadium?

With the current front office we're likely to be waiting for a very long time for Steven Ross to figure out that he doesn't have it in himself to be able to "fix it".

Not sayin much. Your criticism is misplaced. You are the only one who is 'butt hurt', hence the need for the sarcasm. I merely pointed out the silliness of your post.

If they couldn't win a SB with Moss at his peak and breaking all sorts of records what makes you think they'll do it with Jackson?

How about Wallace and a fifth for Jackson. We get the loud mouth diva who is a star and who can do it all (much less of salary) for Wallace who could be a quiet piece in Chip Kellys offense yet the fans could feel good than they got a star to fill Jacksons shoes in Philly. Win Win
