The ProBowl needs to go away.

Racing is the most attended sport in the US. When you add the attendance from all the small tracks around the country you'll find far more spectators than all the other major sports combined. So you have a lot of race car drivers from small tracks that watch the racing at these major events. Similar to you watching the pro golfers. If you ever raced you would probably feel differently about watching it.
If that's going to be the comparison, don't you then have to include HS and Jr High football?

That would change the comparison and make it somewhat more equal. I think the major 4 pro sports average around 2 million per week. Motorsports around the country generally have around 6 million per weekend. There are a lot of motorsports. go-karts, Monster trucks, desert & Baja racing as mentioned along with a lot of others. The point was that just as many people go to races as do football games and those people enjoy watching it on TV even though it isn't as exciting as being at the track.
