The Question of Ryan Tannehill - Bill Barnwell

The chart is pretty cool. Pretty much shows the obvious limitations of T-hill and our Wr's last season. Hartline enjoyed success b/w within 10-20 yrd routes on the left. The dubious disconnection long to Wallace on the right side. But what's concerning was the lack of accuracy and absolutely nothing longer than 15 or so yards across the middle. Possibly a combination of Sherman's playbook and although Clay was great for us last year, that we still severely lack a middle seam threat.

Don't intentionally bait please.

how is posting a quote from the article that this thread is about baiting? especially b/c it is a point I have been making on here all offseason and I have been bashed for it as if I have been unfairly criticizing Ryan.

That's the only reason you brought it up, as if to say HAHA I WAS RIGHT GUYS.

This quote is interesting.

As is this one:

"... suppose there might have been some hope for Mark Sanchez after the Jets led him to two AFC Championship Games in his first two seasons, but that was coming from people who worship at the bizarre intersectional altar of the Jets and quarterback wins."

I am normally not an "I told you so" type of guy but this was related to the topic. My point all offseason was you guys were using the OL as an excuse and that the Ol was pretty good the 2nd half of the year. I also stated many times he wasn't bad and that didn't mean he wouldn't be good. I may not always be right but I am always fair.

Good read. Are there any graphs like this for any other QBS? I'd like to see them:

Grantland did one for Manning and Brady last year.

"pretty good" LOL.. you're delusional Junk. it went from dumpster fire to just a fire. Not to "pretty good"

You're a troll baiting clown.

Everytime there's a Tanne topic expect this clown to show his mug.

All I've known is I've seen 3 games up close and personal, and all 16 games in total. I was going to the Orange Bowl before Perfectville, and Yankee Stadium with my dad, a Giants fan as a kid . I've also seen a bunch of games, mostly with the Fins at Shea Stadium and a bunch more at the LA Coliseum. Long way of saying I've seen some OL play in my time but still have never seen any as atrocious as the Fins was last season!

If 5 objective analytical services gave the Fins an average 29th ranking (and PFF ranking them at 21 actually brings up the average), considering having to work with all those obstacles Tannehill still managed to beat 4 out of 7 winning teams, many of them playoff bound and earlier in the season. So props should be extended to Tannehill's success cuz he succeeded despite how absolutely even more dreadful the OL was during much of that earlier part of the season if their overall season ranking was 29th.

I never felt he gets stuck on his progressions maybe I just don't know what I'm watching but I think he is pretty good at progressing through his reads. You need more time to get through your reads more then say 2 seconds

but nobody cares about what you come on here to say about our team. When are you going to wake up and see how ridiculous you look coming on to a rivals site on a regular basis to "fairly" evaluate OUR team for us. Go to your own site like a Jets fan normally would.

 congrats barnwell you found 2 clips of plays where the qb did in fact cause sacks the first a misread on the coverage on a pick play that the coverage should have dictated him going away from from the get go the second sack though the check down in the flat is covered he pumped twice in the pocket i dont see any open options there if he does throw to the check down yeah it's one on one but the defender is closing fast would be an easy stoppage...if anything you throw the ball in the 3rd row but that's not his mentality and thru 2 years that has become obvious he thinks every play is alive to be made...he needs to figure it out...the 3rd sack he had tunnel vision and never came off what was likely a presnap misread

Amen, dude! This guy has no life!

the pick play play call baffles me...that coverage is not anywhere where it needs to be to even run that play i dont know if tanny checked to that at the los or what but if sherman called that in tanny needs to check out of it when he sees the coverage...i think he just misread it bad at the los and stuck with it...even wallace is looking around like pick who???

i need my qb to be smarter than that one...

Except that no where in the article did it say that Miami's OL was "pretty good" in the second half of the season. It does say this though:

That likely owes something to Tannehill being stuck behind the league’s worst offensive line last season
